Now that's funny. But you shouldn't be so hard on yourself.
Next weekend is a practice day at our race lake, so we'll get some videos & a GPS reading hopefully.
Like I said before, I rushed things a bit to get this baby on the water & just used what I had lying around.
The linkages & rods I used for the rudders were way undersize & had too much flex & slop. So I've now bought some 3mm rods to match some 3mm threaded ball linkages that I had, straightened out the geometry a bit, & added a tie rod between the blades. Much more solid & precise with no slop whatsoever. I'll be much more confident in the turns now.
Here's the new set up.
Excellent job, very inspiring to watch something like that come together. It's great to see something like this move from the idea stage to a reality, that alone is a huge success imo. I was thrilled to see it run so well and I hope to see more of the boat soon!
Thanks for that Fella.
I must admit, there is an inherent sense of satisfaction with this sort of project. Within our club I'm known to make some weird models. Here's one you may appreciate. Conceived & drawn up from an artists impression in a Navy Magazine. Im not sure if the Navy even built it in the end.
Still a lot of things to try out on this one yet. The one playing on my mind the most is whether or not to fill in the inverted V shape of the centre sponson.
Still have to try the outside props spinning the other way yet. That will happen this weekend.

Paul.
Paul,
I would run that boat a lot more before I decided to fill in that center sponson. If I did fill it in, I would make it a slight V in the opposite direction. But it looks like it runs pretty nice the way it is, you should try to figure out a way to fil it temporary just to see how it works then you could take it out if it doesn't work.

Are you some sort of mind reader or something? That's exactly what I intend to do. If I do it.
Just lay down a drizzle of Eco expanding foam & then sand to shape & glue a thin 1/32" piece of ply or polystyrene sheet on it. Easy to rip out & dissolved with acetone to clean it up.
But yes. There are other things to play around with yet, & that will be most probably the last one. If at all. 'Cos it just looks so cool & menacing under that hull.
Hi Ray.
Yes, It's been great fun, this one.
Yep. As you've found, Inward at the tops & the centre one normal.
I'll be reversing the outside ones this weekend to see what happens.
They are CNC 4614/3 blade props.
