    Objective - Triple Digit Mono

Well, this is it! This is an idea I started working on last summer. The plan was to build it over the winter, but for some reason the hull took 19 weeks to arrive. Once again I'm in uncharted territory with this build. I will be throwing some ideas around and we'll see what happens. Starting with a DF Sniper 45'', I reinforced the seams with CF tape. under the deck I did strips of Coremat and of course two layers of carbon fiber in the hull. The hatch received the same. The strips of Coremat add a lot of strength while adding less weight then covering the entire area.

Joe at MBP made this motor mount for me. 4mm of carbon fiber on the exact motor shaft centers I specified, making it a straight shot to the struts.

Speedmaster hardware and MBP collets. Still working out the strut and rudder mounting. Plan A is to use carbon fiber flood tubes for strut adjustment.

I admire your building and your passion for this. If you would be interested in some ideas on how to keep this hull on the water, I used to race one and figured out some things. It would be interesting to see if the stock hull could stay on the water at triple digit speeds.

Absolutely I'm always interested in experienced information. This is by no means a "how to" thread and there is't exactly a blueprint for builds like this. Any info and advice is welcome.

                    Hi,
interesting build. What wind are the 2260?

I did my first twin on that type of boat in the pics you see. Got easily to 97mph, but was not really happy with the handling and had some flex issues. Surprisingly it was a blast for oval driving in Star-wiring (3040/7)...because of that i did not redo/optimize her and left as it is since the singles ran better for my taste.
Sometimes being 10mph slower in the straights you cannot not overtake her in oval cause she is having a big distance ahead the boat behind her after a corner Really stupid in acceleration even with X447s....

                    Have fun with the build.

                    Regards
                    Ralf

                      Joel,
                      ON Coremat / CF layup,
How did you attach all that to the hull? Vacuum bag?

Easily 97 MPH? Impressive. My only goal is to keep her on the water in a straight line. There are a few things I'll be keeping under my hat for now, motor wind being one of them.

No, the reinforcement is all hand laid done wet on wet in one sitting. Took some time, a lot of resin, rollers and patience. I will also be adding additional support under the deck.
