A good idea is to spray the paint on the back of a plastic spoon to see reactions and gives you a good sense of what the colour will look like. Airbrush guys do it all the time. Good luck, wish I knew an easy answer.

That's going to look very cool. Nice use of different materials.

My computer has been down so I have not been active on any forums. I just got it to full strength yesterday.

As for the boat, nothing new. I've been waiting on the parts. I did try to find the Smart Strip, but it is a Canadian thing eh. There is Citri Strip though, which is half the price and the more promising option from Home Depot.

I finally got the brackets! It is great to see everything put together. It sucks to see that I screwed up somewhere. The motor and top plate sit way to high. You know the saying "measure twice, cut once". Well I'm pretty sure I measured way more than twice, but mistakes happen. Aside from the side rails, everything is perfect. I'll see if I can grind or cut them shorter some how. If not, I'll just order a revised version the rails.

I'll get pictures a little later.

I knew I didn't screw up the design. I used the wrong part in the final file... What I got was the previous 15 degree rails.

That looks great, I didn't realize having stuff custom made was an affordable option. The esc sits great in there and really tidy with the braided sleeve. The sleeving can be a pain in the the butt! Your a lot further ahead then me. I found out there's a lot more resin than cloth in the extension piece for the rudder. Should fix up Ok. I really like how it's coming together.

I finally got around to actually running this thing. The original motor mounting plate broke so I fabbed up this 1/8" aluminum plate.

Just thinking about the second hull... I was going to spray the boat gunmetal, with a white "waterline", and "anodized" red where the tape is. But after seeing my original post, I think I'll go back to that.

I've also been playing around with the mount since I can now cut aluminum.

The mount furthest from the black one is the newest. I did get rid of the integrate ESC housing since I do not have the newer T180. The overall width, not including screw heads, shrunk from 75mm to 65.35mm assuming that a 1/8" thick material is used for the side frames. The last picture would be a little jig that will be used to drill the sides. It works with both front and rear parts. I do not know what to make the side frames from though. I could go aluminum, cf, or g10.
