Yep. Good stuff DJ. It's two part closed cell urethane foam.

I managed to get the top decks glued on over the weekend.
Plenty of tape, clamps & weights did the trick.

In my U-95, which is the same length, I'm running the 1527/1Y 1250kv motor on 8s but the revs are a bit high, hence the 1100kv choice for this hull

But if there are any other suggestions, I'm all ears.

        Cheers.

I've had a bit of time to spare lately because the company I worked for went belly up a couple of weeks ago.
So I've been able to do a bit on this one in the last few days.
I've fitted the motor mount, strut, stuffing tube, water outlet & drilled the transom for the rudder.
The strut mounting brackets were mounted on the inside of the transom & a slot cut through the floor for the strut.
The motor mount that I had wasn't long enough so I added a ring & brackets behind it. Strengthened it up with a bit of a carbon fiber arrow courtesy of my son.

I bought one of these dummy motor kits some time ago & have been cutting & sanding bits & pieces ready for painting & assembly.

So the next thing to finish was the hatch.
A bit of 1/16" ply for a top skin was glued to the frame.
Looking at umpteen dozen pics of unlimited hydros showed me that the engine wold be sitting too high if I just glued it on top of the hatch. Even after I had cut the block down as low as possible. So I had to build a recess into the hatch like I've seen on other models. But then I had to cut a hole in that under the block where it hit the motor. Too easy.

I've decided on the full size boat to model this one on. The "Miss America IV" U-36
The graphics kit has been ordered from Mike at Thunderboat Graphics.

Sorry, we couldn’t find that page

It's good to be back working on this again.

          Cheers.
          Paul.

                  Thanks guys.

The thing is, a job offer came up yesterday & although I wanted more time off, I had to take this one. Did the induction with the company yesterday afternoon & I start on Monday.
So that's the end of play time.

                  Oh! Well.

Not much time for building boats at the moment though.

Just a tip for you. If the weather is cold, heat up the tins of foam in some hot water first. In cold weather the foam expands less & will be more dense & heavier.

                                Cheers.
