Flush and tape it, no matter what you do water is going to get in unless you tape it. Or you could use some kind of thin rubber for a seal. I did that one time on a Genesis with some 1/4 turn hatch locks. It worked real nice as long as the rubber seal was perfect. That was the catch, keeping the seal perfect.....

I think I just like old school! Have more pics to post, just not yet.
Since the hull is going to be painted white with black sides, and some red, I was thinking of Krylon Fusion, no primer. I've used Krylon in the past, old and new fourmula's, and Fusion with only good results so far. Any comments about Fusion?Comment

Building the engine hatch vent covers. The first pic is a block of plywood that was used as a form.

Last group for now. Built the dashboard. Will glue this in later after everything is sealed with poly resin. Same with the engine hatch covers. Most of the major hatch building is done at this point. Will seal everything with resin and sand it down. Going to jump over to installing the running hardware.Comment

I do Remember those Days at Jenkinsons !
I'm typically a scale boat builder and I usually go for older boats. I wanted to build a FE boat from the offshore powerboat days of the 80's since I would watch the boats at the Benihanna Grand Prix off of Point Pleasant NJ. A friend recently gave me this Dumas 45" hull, so my goal is to build something that resembles Betty Cook's Kaama. I've been posting questions in the Q&A forum, figured I would start a build thread and see what other help I would get here. I'm a slow builder and procrastinator so bear with me on this.
I'll be keeping a continuous photo blog here unless I figure a better way for it: http://s11.photobucket.com/user/ken_...tml?sort=9&o=0
Here are some previous models I built. I'm no slouch when it comes to detail. The Miss Belmar is scratch built, 54" long and powered by 4 Dumas 12v motors with 4 props of course. The USS Marlin is a highly modified kit.

This is my goal.

I've been looking for 3 figures, about 1:10 or 7" tall. I figure a motorcyclist or race car driver with helmet would do. Not easy to find. I'm not going to do the seating until I come up with drivers. Best I can find so far are wrestlers but would need to add some sort of outfit and helmets. Also looked at pilots. Would prefer the full figure then I can bastardize it.
If you know of something, PLEASE let me know.
BTW, thanks for the compliments!Comment
