Im waiting on resin to cure.I tested its floatation today and I wasn't happy with it so I made a large foam block that goes under the container. Then I covered the whole foam block in carbon fiber. I also have to pick up a couple things from the hardware to finish it. I used a Plano waterproof box to house everything in. Its very sturdy and nicely built. Has the motor and rudder out of my miss geico.

Ditch the 1 part foam. It is open cell.
The polyurethane 2 part foam is closed cell. Save the can foam or working on your house. The can foam will expand if in contact with water, like if something cracks.
2 part rt foam will not. it can also be structural, if you buy the higher density variety.

I looked and looked for something suitable to house all the electronics in. Well this thing worked perfectly. Its definately waterproof. And its tough.

I was thinking about making a saw boat out of a three liter coke bottle. What do you think?

I think its a gread idea and while I am partial to the milk carton you have my full support. I dont know why there isnt a race class for it already. I cant think of a single thing that would go wrong, a natural choice for a saw boat if there ever was one. Brilliant. You could partition parts of it of and use the coke to achieve a good ride attitude and perfect balance. Now that you let the cat out of the bag on this you best hurry along as I sure many will be racing to be the first coke/saw boat in the world. I seee sponsorship coming your way soon!:) just go for it!!!

Back on the build. Took a little over a month off messing with other stuff and today I had a wild hair and decided to cut my battery trays out and finish them. Well one thing lead to another and I started ripping everything out the hull and started fresh. I just got through cutting out my carbon fiber for the inlay im getting ready to do. Im only doing one layer mainly for aesthetic reasons because this hull is thicker than the daytona I just did. Its probably strong enough the way it is but im going to help it some. It looks like a few extra layers were added at the seam. If im not mistaken you can opt for this option. So I think im one step ahead because of that. I have everything I need to finish it now so I just need to get to it. Hopefully doing the inlay will get me excited again. Ill post some pics of the inlay shortly.

I got the motor mounted. The inlay done. And the battery trays installed. I had alot of work to do to get the motor mount to fit with this big ole motor. Heres some pics.
