If you're able to afford the cost, go with MGM. Not only are their ESC's bulletproof their customer service is top notch.

    Very nice build btw!

I can also confirm...I have never seen better customer support/service than Martin Dvorsky of MGM. They are TOP.
And I am buying on the Internet almost every day for years.

          Hello Yamadori,
I fully understand why you chose to go with MHZ drives. I was interested in peoples views on the other products available because here in the UK building this type of boat is a very specialised part of the hobby and one never gets the chance to see these parts. I envy our friends in Germany (and other parts of mainland Europe) having a choice of such great parts.
Some years ago when I was running IC powered SAW boats, I used to travel to the USA on business regularly and took every opportunity to study what our American friends were doing and bring parts back with me. I used to buy 11cc K&B engines and run them on 50% (or higher) nitro fuel when everyone in the UK thought that 5% was extreme !!!
Keep up the good work and posts ….. we are enjoying watching your build.
          Steve

I have finally decided what paint-decal scheme will my Mystic be.
That doesn't mean I like JBS racing colour scheme the best...means only I like other offered paints less :)

So, it will be JBS. Done.

            A bit modified...probably :)

I am still far from powering up the system...I'm a bit slow with building session...it's hard to catch enough time...kids, job, wife...
I will Tyler, thank you for offering me help. I will contact you when powering up comes close.
As I have drilled all holes and decals are on the way...I think next step will be paint and lacque
I will make a video and take photos of painting session

I'm waiting for motor and battery mounts

And, as I will be on a trip in the USA for one big part of december/january far from home and my boats...I'm not planing maiden drive before early february. Won't be enough time :)

My modification of MHZ cable rudder system.

I don't find that wheel type solution reliable and precise enough. The wheel is removed from aluminum wheel carrier

Two notches are cut in the aluminum body...

Two millimeter carbon plate is prepared...

                      IMG_7349-001.JPG

Carbon plate inserted in a notch and fixed with epoxid

                      IMG_7354-001.JPG

Carbon plate will serve as a 4mm brass tube holder. The hole on a carbon plate is 4mm, so the fit is pretty tight. No need for glue, when fitted it is not easily removed, not without force.

                      IMG_7360-001.jpg

In "main" brass tube goes 2mm brass tube which is just a tiny bit wider than steel cable is ...by which rudder is controlled.

                      IMG_7363-001.JPG IMG_7364-001.jpg

I find this system very accurate. When using a cable system in a "normal" way with cable sliding over the wheel and without 2mm brass tube that leads the steel cable on its way to rudder, steel cable twists and bends in pushing/pulling motion of servo action making rudder motion not precise.
When I use 2mm brass tube in leading steel wire towards rudder arms...brass tube doesn't allow any bending during servo's push/pull motion...and the rudder moves "like on rails".
Small 2mm brass tube exits the transom only 1mm. As it is very small and steel cable fills all it's volume, water cannot enter the boat that way. Also, before feeding 2mm brass tube with steel cable, tube is filled with marine grease, making "the seal" even better and rudder motion perfectly smooth.
Outer 4mm brass tube serves only as a protection, fixation and a leader for a 2mm cable brass tube through the back of the boat.

The same system already works in my H&M 1300mm Agitator Maritimo and that's "the best" working rudder that I have on any boat.

This is "the beam" that holds 4mm outer rudder brass tube (with the inner 2mm brass tube and cable) on their way to servo. Made out of "T" aluminum profile, strong and light, with 2mm carbon plate fixed with ss 3mm screws.
"The beam" is epoxied to the top of the boat.

This first servo solution was functional...BUT UGLY AS HELL.

                            IMG_7298-001.JPG

I had to dedicate some more time to find something new...equally functional but much more beautiful...

                            I call this MOTHERBOARD.
I have made 2mm carbon fiber plate with Mystic logo cnc-ed and JBS skull logo as a central ...focus part. Underneath cut out areas is polished aluminum fixed with few spots of composite and black silicone...so that everything can be easily removed without damaging carbon plate. Motherboard has integrated openings for MGM 40063 PRO esc displays as you can see on last photo. I'm still waiting for my second esc to arrive...then...everything will be fixed on the motherboard. This will also add to functionality as all electronics can be easily taken out of the boat with unscrewing 8 SS screws...only motors stay...

                            IMG_7375-001.jpg IMG_7377-001.JPG IMG_7381-001.jpg

                            With one MGM on board...

I thought the first servo mount to be quite nice, if thats ugly as hell I would love to see your reaction to something that was actually ugly! Great looking build though, looks like you have done this before.

sorry, I didn't want to sound rude, I was just critical regarding my work on my first servo mount. I just didn't like it :)

Yes, I've done it before. This is my second build in my life, second electric build from scratch (I'm not counting upgrading rtr boats or disassembling rc gas boat engine and clutches)
So, my second project from bare hull and components :)
