Servo holder for 1/4 scale servo...this is modified MHZ servo holder, I have made it smaller and I have included brass tubes holder for rudder cables...

I will attach aluminum plate under the MHZ logo...looks great to me...logo is much more visible :)

                  Hi Yamadori,
I am following your build with interest as earlier this year I began research to start a build like yours. The build has been delayed whilst I complete several other major projects. I too received very good input from the same people who have given you input …… a great community.
I would like to ask you a question ….. did you consider any other drives before selecting the MHZ parts. I was considering the Click Drive from Modellbau Pirat (www.mbp-rc.de) and the drives from www.wd200-modelbau.de ……. they both look very good.
I will be interested as to how well the MGM controllers perform …. they appear to be of a very high specification. I was going to use the Hefei Swordfish 300 but there appears to be very mixed reports on them.
Very good wishes to you ….. I look forward to following your build.
                  Steve

                    Hi Steve,

well, I must admit...I never considered other options. There are (at least in my crazy head :) ) several reasons for that. First one, I strongly believe that, if some part is specifically made for some other part...that has to be good...at least, somebody was thinking for quite some time about how to fit these two together. I believe it's the same with MHZ. Those drives are...well, first, scale drives for Mystic 1850...second, specifically made to fit that hull...third, made by a very respectable firm. I like to have combinations without much adjusting and fitting together. You know that saying...if you have something good that works...don't fix it. I have tried improvisations not once, and all the time I've had just problems. Not saying those drives that you mentioned are not good...
One more thing...I come from scientific background...and I am used to believe only in definitely or at least as much as it's possible proven things/facts. That means...I would have to be very assured...not just by rumors or "somebody said"...that something is better then something else. And in that case it should be not just better...but significantly better. Otherwise, it's not worth the bother :)
MHZ drives look nice...at least to me. I don't know the cost of those other drives...don't know if they are cheaper or more expensive then MHZ's.
All this doesn't have to be true...that is just my opinion and my way of doing things. I was many times convinced that it's the easiest and the best way. What do you think? Why not MHZ?

Regarding ESC from MGM, I was told many many times they are best of "the best" in the world. As I do not have experience with such hi amp and expensive esc's...I have to believe the references...
and as I'm scared as hell not to burn the whole boat for ton of money...I wanted to use only the best. The LiPos should also be of the highest quality

                    maybe I'm wrong...time will tell :)

Nice dude this is one impressive build, I can't imagine driving this thing. I like the 12s2p setup, was looking at other 185 mystics some people run 12s1p but the 2p setup seems like what you need to keep this big hull stable at high speeds.

As far as the click drive vs mhz drive question asked, mbp drives are great but I personally bent a click unit in a hard crash making adjustment very difficult. mgm escs are proving themselves in demanding applications, wait till you see how cool they run in relation to the data logging stats.

looking foward to seeing your boat run. one suggestion, (not knowing kokam batteries ) thunderpower replaces any faulty batteries (no matter what happened ) at half price. no cost if faulty. just a thought. good luck.

                            Iridebikes,

With 2P setup i primarily go for a longer run times. If I get 15 to 20 min of nice scale driving without much full throttle...I will be veery happy
                            :)
                            I think I will use 6000mAh 6 cell batteries
