And on that note, since we are getting another round of cold I am opting for 'the new hatch' plan. It starts with a chunk of ply

And then I epoxy a chunk of foam to it so it does not sink.

          Yes,
I think they run pretty nice with the x447/3 so far.
They say if you detongue it you should see more speed at the top end,
But I may look into that when it gets a little warmer around hear.

I am going to play/work another m447 and cup the tips a tad. I am planning on detounging the three blade and making it an M series.

Have you tried an M645 on it Lenny?

                Just curious Len,that is all.

So back to this chunk of foam, this should be all redy to go by the time I am back from work today. So now what form do I want for my lid, roundy as it was stock or more squared and broad like a Revolt, or maybe a little bubbled? Bear in mind if I keep a healthy portion of foam on the top it will most likely right itself later.
I did this look once using this exact same method:

I think the fountain P1 look would be great, give it a scale look. You can't go wrong with the mystic look. I really like what hpr did with there canopy top though a little wider and deeper bubble. The revolt looks just Ok, I have one and I plan on making a different top at some point, more scale looking. I am biased but the fountain p1 with the nice rounded front tapering back would look great with that hull. You could always shape it back down mystic like from there as the p1 covers a fair bit of real estate, perfect for the added flotation to. I can send you close up pics of the canopy if you like. You've get me thinking about changing that revolt. Nice boat, just a little ugly IMHO.

I think the one in the pic looks nice, I like the fast back look... maybe just a little more rounded on the top

Hey I checked on the prop today,
And no I did not test with that prop yet.
                      I have these to try on hand soon, Mod m445,Mod m645,Mod x445,Mod x646,Mod m447,S230,
                      And maybe the x452/3 again.

I was thinking of a scale look to for it,
But like the kind you really like.
Of the old open hatch type like the 36" shockwave with two men in the boat,
But that opens up a hole new can of worms for you.

OK so I got a good start on this thing this morning. I used my table saw to make a series of cuts from each side and front/rear to establish straight even lines in certain areas like scoops, and each side of the canopy. Then I broke away the unwanted mess

And started to sand, some with the palm sander but then with block and 60grit. So this is what I have so far.

Please feel free to give opinions, it is easy to change ATM, just some sanding. But once I like it on goes the glass and it is permanent for this one.

Nice. I wouldn't have even attempted that. I'm trying to visualize it without the large scoop on the back and I think that cleaner line would look better.
