    Jet,

I've been catching up on this thread and applaud your efforts
I'd be interested in the future, but funds are tied up with another project. Oh well, I'll have to catch the second round.

    Joe,

Are you making these rudders available to all? In any case, let me know what you want for one, maybe two.

I'm watching for the new pictures of the #2...and can't wait.

Yep, they are available to every one. They are $20 + $4.80 for shipping.

The drawings are sent to the laser guy. I'll have three sheets cut and I can get three sets from a single sheet. One set for me, one for "Crash" Walker, one for Randy @ BBY, one for Joe S., maybe one more for Mike. There should be a few left over.

                Just to inform everyone...

The 3000 kV motor and 30 Amp ESC's on E Bay are going CHEAP right now. Evidently "cyberport" has some competition which created a price war.

I bought two more setups for under $40 shipped.

Wasnt planning on it, but I got 2 Hydromite's on the way too.

Wow, this is a really really cool project.

It looks like the hulls are on sale right now, and if the motor is really that cheap, I might buy 2 hulls and two motors.

Does that sound reasonable? I'm newish to boats (goofed off with plenty of toys, but I love building planes, so I figured I'd love to build a boat), so IDK if that sale price is actually a sale price, but it looks good to me.

well I have 2 hulls one is being set up per Dr Jet and the second with BBY components but with the same motor/ESC

BBY boats are a great price so buy a couple they are worth it.

Dr. Jet, you willing to supply us with a 'short kit'? A kit that contains all the parts I won't have?

                            Awesome!

I know your laser cut frames won't fit, but could the rest of the design be used on the micro patriot?

you might be able to use the frame {modified} as well, that would give you a center stringer/motor mount/drive shaft locater {glue the black tube to the center stringer} and it might also be able to be modified for the 21" micro cat of BBY

I would think the "drive train" would work on most micro boats

my opinion AND 89 cents will get you a coffee at 7/11 but ya gotta bring your own cup....

The drivetrain is essentially the same as I run in the Geckos, so I would think it would work in the MP. That said, not much of the laser cutting will be transferrable except the stuffing tube and the motor. Making a motor mount will be easy; stiffening the hull can be done with some CF tubes or rods (in the strakes) and FG cloth epoxied on the bottom (inside) of the hull. Joe's rudder should work, so you have everything you need.
