Rescue boat build, springer pusher with underwater fpv and recovery

Hey guys I'm building a rescue boat. I know this isn't going to take the place of the kayak but it should make retrieval a little more exciting. I'm basing this build off a springer pusher tug. Plans are to mount a fpv camera in the front of the hull. Camera will be focused underwater about 60 degrees down. This will make locating props, drives, ect a little easier. (not to mention a good fish finder too!). And I'm planning on making a buoy launcher for marking approximate location for a search. Simple drive with a kort nozzle and Becker rudder system. Power is going to be a dewalt drill brushed motor, a 5692tp , or 4092 tp, using lower voltage for lower rpms around 20,000 with around a 50mm prop. As this build progress I may change those ideas.

I found some info on these hulls. I increased the size by 30% to accommodate the extras I'm installing. Should be a powerhouse

Installed the hull bottom using the leftover cuts which will be used as the stand also. Oh and my help! Yes he will be in alot of pics-he is really a pain it the a** cat! But I do like the cats, as I'm building this so I can recover a fantasim I plan on building soon.

So these are the power choices. Haven decided what to use. I like the idea of a brushed motor, long run time. But I don't have a home for this 5692 and I think I could probably pull a real boat with that setup. And the 5692 might be better for weight. As I have learned that these hull actually need some good amount of weight or ballast to run.

Looks real nice! I've alway liked springers, maybe when I get bored of the Lobster boat rescue craft I'll build one of these. Spent a lot of time lobster fishing when I was young and decided to recreate my uncles old boat. I also really like scale tugs for some reason as well.

Milled my first part. This is the fin of the Becker rudder assembly. And the last is the rudder fitted into the kort nozzle.

This mill/lathe is sooo cool! This is the kort nozzle that I milled a devit into for the rudder shaft. The shaft is 5/32 or 3/16(forget which one).

Tried to get the shaft as accurate as possible. Used brass so I would be able to solder parts together.

Beveled the leading edge inside the kort nozzle

And made a new 3/16 shaft with no prop nut. Drilled for 93 wire drive. Once I get the right prop the system will look better. As for now I'm using a 3 blade octura 450 prop just for reference.

These parts are going to get the finishing touches after all the running gear is fitted. I need to make the tiller arm and going to add a grease fitting tube to the driveline and rudder shaft. I'm planning on using the wire drive system as it is supposta bea straight shot but in reality I'm sure it will be off a little. So I figure the wire will take the alignment easy. And then I don't have to use a universal joint. I have run .093 wire drives in saw boats with more bend than what I'm expecting this to have with no problems. As this is going to be forward and reverse.
