i did a tub test today to check for leaks after the grim racer grease was put in the shaft.. what do you know.. NO LEAKS!!! yaaaaayy
im also gonna go pic up some 12 guage wires for both the moters.. i dont have wires for the 11x2 motor and as you can see the green shrink wrap covering the wire on the 12x2 motor..

Thought about this ever since you did it, having the battery up high on that balsa shelf youve got in there will give the boat a higher COG, thus meaning that it will be prone to handling like crap.
How heavy is that lipos u got in there for the fan? Something much smaller and lighter could suffice.

yes i was just thinking about this week.. i feel so stupid that i did that.. and they are not even lipos.. they are nimh cells..big 1/10 sclae 6 cell for the electronics and the small 6 cel for the fan is what im using.. i think im gonna totally redo the inside of the boat. the reason i did that was becuase it was leaking and i was scared to get anything wet.. but now since it doesnt even leak,i think i will redo it.. but you are right. thanks

im thinking of getting this item.. im not sure that it will fit the flex shaft but the motor shaft is 3mm.. so im gonna get the renagade rigger one..

i am also working on taking off the balsa wood since there is no use for it other than screwing up the handeling..

What size flex are you running? most 540 car motors(brushed) will have a 1/8th shaft. I personally like the octura flex hex couplers.

i think its a .130 shaft but im not sure cuz i dont have a way to measure it cuz my calipers are dead with no battery.. the flex shaft is like the same thickness as the motor shaft.. so a basically need 3mm on each side.. please let me know what to get and a link will be awsome.. thanks.. i just got done tearing out the balsa wood and it was easier then i thought.. i decided to also change the servo mount from balsa wood to a plastic servo mount

The Manx has been sitting dormant, but I think I finally have my motivation back. I hope to see it float soon.

You lock the coupler onto the motor shaft with the set screw on the sharft side, then you use 2 wrenches to tighten the collet part onto the flex cable. Like the chuck on a drill in a way.

o how do you like this type of coupler compared to the ones with set screws on both sides?

I like them because i think they have a better grip on the cable, seeing it grips everywhere(not just at set screw points).
Also i like them because i dont have to fumble around with blimin allen keys, just tighten it well and its sweet.
Also ive been meaning to ask you, where is you GOG currently?
