Not sure what you mean by prove me wrong on heat, I'm just stating some facts. I'm sure 3s or 6s will work well. Good luck man -)

No insult just hope I can keep it cool. I am totally clueless. Remember this is my first boat. Thanks for your input.

I took no offense man, just wasn't sure what you meant.
When you calibrate you stuff, turn on transmitter, hold fulll throttle, then plug in battery. When you hear two beeps let off throttle to neutral. You will hear confirmation beeps

And set the esc to auto for the cells for this cailbration setup,
Use a 2s or 3s pack to set the trottle and your motor will not scream at high RPM with no load on it.

You must not be clueless. My first boat was a RTR. I was too chicken to do a build.

Here is an FYI for anyone using the new traxxas TQi transmitter. The TQi will not communicate properly to the traxxas link receiver, it must be a TQi receiver. I learned the hard way spent too many hours trying to get the throttle on my DF pirate and seaking 180 working. Switched to the TQi receiver and all is good. Bathtub test tomorrow. Batteries are temp Velcro to hull at 30 % cog for first run.

Yeh me too. Drove me crazy. Finally disassembled my Slash 4x4 and hooked up receive red that is when I noticed that the receiver was different.

That is why I said to use low volt cells like the 2s,
When I did my first setup I thought the motor was going to blow up on 4s stuck at full rpm's,
Till I pulled the bullets apart.

Messed around with it forever and you are correct, it fired up when the iPhone screen was in setup mode but shut down as soon as I moved to dashboard. Scared the crap out of me when it fired up. LOL.

Ok this baby is done. Will add the flotation, I assume that it is stuffed not glued in. As soon as the stuffing tube is greased it is ready to test. I will tape the cowl for now but I re-inforced the corners to add thumb screws to secure. The data logger is installed and I will have sensors by end of next week. Ordered two temp and one rpm for the motor along with the correct TQi receiver.
I contacted my graphics guy, Artgrunt Graphics, to work up he Miss Almond Joy graphics. He has done some incredible graphics for Karts and trailers.
I must be crazy, but going to order single drive cat as soon as I get this on the water. Going to take suggestions and get a aeromarine 36" sprintcat. I set it up similar with the same power pack.
                            Yep I'm hooked!

Best Wishes for her maiden, great build!
I am waiting for my Mean Machine, turned out OSE was out of stock ( yellow) and Steven contacted Aero and I am waiting for them to ship, can't wait either, already read Dana's build and some other posts. That Aero 36" Sprintcat sounds like an extremely exciting idea!
