Leopard 4082 1600kv. Seaking 180. 3/16 shaft. Two 3s 40c 5000mah lipos in series. x445 prop. Offset rudder. The leopard 4092 1480kv setup on your boat would probably let you go up to a x447 prop. You can do the 2x6s in parallel, but the extra weight will slow you down.Comment

If you've already commited to 6s lipos. Rig your wiring so you can change from series to parallel back and forth. Use your 6s lipos in parallel for rougher water, and get 3s lipos to run in series when its smoother for faster speed (because of the lighter weight). 3s 40c 5000mah Turnigy lipos would only be about $28 each.Comment

What kind of speed are you getting?KartRacer ~ Dennis B

Getting ESC programmed was easy. Had only a small issue with the binding receiver. Buuuuuut can not get ESC to program for throttle. Steering works correctly but throttle will not. Programming sheet is not very clear. I tried using BEC in the 180 plugged into channel two with no luck then tried separate receiver battery in battery port on receiver also with no success. Got tired messing with it and opened bottle of wine. Deal with it again Saturday. :) any suggestions or comments are always welcome!KartRacer ~ Dennis B

What tx are you using and do you have the program card for the esc ?
Set the esc cell count to auto for now.
I am using a Tactic and I set my TH. trim to full and N & R to R.
You will need to calibrate the throttle range first of the transmitter,
When you first use the controller or when using a new and different transmitter or receiver.
1 move the throttle stick to full and hold it their, I use a bread tie around it to hold it.
2 Turn on the tx and than connect a 2s or 3s battery pack to the esc and wait 2 seconds for beep beep,
3 Than release the bread tie and you will hear a beep and you are finished calibrating the tx.Last edited by lenny; 09-28-2012, 12:03 AM.Comment

True. But on 6s, you don't really want longer run times. That baby will be hot in 5-8 minutes anyway. I just like using smaller batteries in series, I'd even do two 3s batteries in series each side. If you burn up/puff one 6s lipo, you'd be out more than two 3s batteries for the price.Comment

If you already have the COG figured for the 6s lipos, you'd just move the 3s lipos a little forward. Mine is low 50's with an x445.Comment

I am using the new Traxxas TQi with the iPhone interface. I will check tomorrow but may not have throttle set to reverse.
So if I understand correctly you plug everything in on the boat, ESC, battery, and motor. This will power up the receiver. Then pull full throttle and turn on transmitter, wait for the two beeps and release for the final beep.
Oh and yes I have the program card and programmed the ESC for 6s as recommended by Seaking instructions.
Wish me luck, anxious to get this baby running.
All water lines are installed and clamped, exit ports in hull and all hardware is lock tighted as needed. I guess I,ll just put 2- two inch strips of Velcro in the hull for the batteries to test cog, then epoxy after I am sure it's correct.
Still need to re-in force hatch with CF sheet.
I will water test hull tomorrow after I grease the stuffing tube.
I appreciate everyone's input and ,Dana hope to prove you wrong on heat:)KartRacer ~ Dennis B

Would be thrilled to see 50s with this setup. Oh I see you are concerned on the heat. Again hope you are incorrect because mid summer in Mo is already plenty warm. Much cooler now!KartRacer ~ Dennis B
