i loved the performance of my 5850 motors, i think i will try the 4070 motors and give them a nice spin. As mudl said I hope they go back to the version 1 style motor and from what chris has told us it seems like it'll happen

Well if the 4070 has the same rotor problem I'll find out real soon. Because I'm running 1770kv on 6s, that's 39,294 rpm

I have 3 boats. smallest one is the zonda and is 42" it was my secound boat first boat is 54" long and is a mono hull. currently building a 56" cat. I hope this works for you.

The esc's are 280 amp the secound picture shows the anti-spark wires that the esc's come with.

how did the flier esc work out?

Hello Mudl, I have had many problems with the TP 5850 motor as well. I ran 5850 1000kv on 10-11s in a mystic 138, power was amazing logging 14,400 watts per motor with a 457 prop and swordfish 300 esc. Speed was also great. After about 6 uses, the rotor exploded in one motor destroying the esc.

I also exploded the rotor on the other side but esc remained fine. I might buy the 4070 motor by TP though. Apparently I'm not the only one having problems with the rotors exploding. what does T.P. have to say about their exploding rotors?


Your mystic is really nice I love the color scheme and the performance with that tfl motor is just amazing. Very fast, it runs like a MUCH smaller boat and looks very fast with how much air is underneath the hull. Look forward to more videos and updates on the tfl 56 104 motor.

Any ideas on speed, wattage, etc? Thank you.
