the Schulzes works best with the Lehners but not so good with the TPs.The Hifeis works good,but the Flier/Fightercats work better at the moment with the TP as the hifeis

I use the Flier esc's for my 56" cat and also my 4x4 buggy. The motors are the SSS5694 in the boat and the buggy. I'm pretty shure that TP makes these motors and the construction is like the TP pro series motors. The spec look the same as well. I love the way they run as well with the Flier esc's. I plan on doing a Centralrc Hobbies 70" Outerlimits SV or their 72" Mystic boat and I think that the TP 5850 motors will do the trick, by the looks of what your boat is doing.

Twissted, I have been side tracked latley on my 73in MHZ Mystic, and the 41 fitercat build. Been helping a few buddies with there builds. I should be able to re-focus and get after my builds. Seeing the big 94in cat done, and looking at my 94in hanging on my wall gets my mind racing wondering if I can finsih all the projects I have going in my lifetime.. : )

I have that problem with rc as well. I wouldn't have it any other way! It's good to hear that you have the same problem.

2014 the new Monster Mystic comes out of his cave.

2014 new Style and new Setup.

2014 i tried several motors.
First Lehner 3060/14 with 14s Lipos.
The boat was very slow,there was no performance.
After the Lehners i tried ist with TP 5850-750 V2 with 14s Lipos.
After the first run with the tps,at one motor the rotor blows up.
Now i have the new TFL 56104-790 inside with 14s2p Lipos per motor.
Esc is the MBP 14-300.
The TFL Motors and the MBP esc works very good.

Hello Mudl, I have had many problems with the TP 5850 motor as well. I ran 5850 1000kv on 10-11s in a mystic 138, power was amazing logging 14,400 watts per motor with a 457 prop and swordfish 300 esc. Speed was also great. After about 6 uses, the rotor exploded in one motor destroying the esc.

I also exploded the rotor on the other side but esc remained fine. I might buy the 4070 motor by TP though. Apparently I'm not the only one having problems with the rotors exploding.


Your mystic is really nice I love the color scheme and the performance with that tfl motor is just amazing. Very fast, it runs like a MUCH smaller boat and looks very fast with how much air is underneath the hull. Look forward to more videos and updates on the tfl 56 104 motor.

Any ideas on speed, wattage, etc? Thank you.

Nice, looks great!
TFL motors are TP power copies, with the exception of NOT being hand-wound like a TP motor. They are essentially a lower quality version of the same thing.
Are you sponsored by these guys or just experimenting?
Did you ever try 3080s with an appropriate kv in the boat?

at first i am not sponsorred from TP or TFL.
I am just experimenting.
I tried several motors in this Hull
Lehner 3080/8 at 12s,TP 5850-820 V1 at 12s,Lehner 3060/14 at 14s,TP 5850-750 V2 at 14s and now TFL 56104-790 at 14s.

The TP Motors from the first produktion (V1) are very good.There are no problems with it. From The second produktion (V2) they changed the building of the Rotors.
I had three TP 5850 V2 where the rotor exploded.Also they killd the escs.
With the cheaper TFL i have until jet no problems.The rotor is ok and i drve with the TFL more RPM s as with the TP V2.
Power from the TPs is a little better as by TFL.

I hope TP built in the future such good motors as the V1

I have spoke with t p several times about the problems with their motors I don't know how much of this is true but they said the version 2 rotors are better than the v1 due to having both carbon and Kevlar rapping to where the v1 had just a single Kevlar wrapping. the problem was the glue and surface primer that held the magnets on the rotor. By the time they realize that there was a problem there was too many motors released the problem supposedly is now fixed

i loved the performance of my 5850 motors, i think i will try the 4070 motors and give them a nice spin. As mudl said I hope they go back to the version 1 style motor and from what chris has told us it seems like it'll happen
