Nope, not yet. I'm thinking of the magnetic connectors but not convinced.
Manuel said in another thread that the magnetic ones MHZ sell weren't water proof...that's a bit concerning.
I would like to find something nice. If something ever happened close to shore it would be worth it to be able to minimize the damage.
Your only safe way is what doc is doing. Take the main power off, you have to brake the main battery connection and have 2 terminals through the hull that way it's definetly off. Not just connection to reciever.

That's why hesitant to get them. I don't recall they were MHZ? There was a mod or something to make them waterproof.

Is the MHZ one just rx connection? That would be pointless in my opinion.
I agree, you want to open the circuit with anything you use.
I've considered mounting bullets, but on a carbon fiber hull they would need to be insulated to prevent conducting through the CF.
Sorry Chris, no link.....I saw it on a few German boats. I might not go down that path. Maybe internal fire extinguisher on channel 3-4? Just a thought LOL

Yeh it's an rx one, prevents signal to esc so it can't fire. But if your problem is on t he main, or after a crash, you feel safer that you can disconnect the main..

My concern would be more centered on preventing a meltdown if an ESC fails. Pulling the RX does nothing to prevent that, so maybe bullets are the best way. I'm surprised that no one make something to open the connection at the battery.

I went down that path of enquiry within Australian rules.
Any electrically operated disconnection would have weaknesses..
Rx wet sends wrong data ?
Flat/wet/shorted Rx battery wont power the disconnect or it's trigger.
The disconnects own battery fails.
Main pack shorts and welds disconnect's terminals closed..
ouch
We remained with the standard of deck plug set.
under CF decks I place a 1/4" nylon sheet as backing .. strong and non conductive... ( a kitchen cutting board is sacrificed to higher purposes ! )
around the female plugs through deck I use a plastic o-ring .. sits around the plug, ontop the nylon backing.. and CA in place.

They should be there for your own good, so you don't go through the shredder and become fish food. Never assume people know your boat or the equipment running it. I myself have a habit of picking boats up from the front, so nowhere near props. I don't trust equipment, even with the power off. LOL
The day you forget the number 1 rule of logic is the day you get hurt! (Murphy's law is ther to get you)
I found that anything that can go wrong generally does go wrong sooner or later...

It's possible some people are just immune to common sense, hey ?
