Remmie a lot do this mod on the spacer using a piece of 6mm bore silicon exhaust tube squeezed between so that you can move the stinger to positive or negative whilst still maintaining a seal. Martin.

Remmie what settings did you use on the 180a esc ecspecially the lvc, have you had the lvc cut in to soon as this is a common problem with those esc. Thanks Martin.

        Hi Martin,

Well It looks like i found the sweetspot regarding angle of the stinger, and with this spacer im good.
Good idea of the 6mm silicon exhaust tube. I will look if I still have some laying around and try that as well! Thanks mate!

        Programming of the 180ESC
        No Brake
Hard set to 5 Cell Lipo
        LVC = off
Timing was set on lowest, but changed that now to 7,5 but I think I go back to lowest. Cant remember what it was. 1 or 3,5.
Compared with the carbon prop i lost 3km/h when I raised the timing. Will do a test again this week to see what happens

As soon as I hear the revs drop a little bit I stop driving and end up with 3,7Volt per cell. Recharging the 5000Mah packs take then 4000Mah.
Run time is then just below 4 minutes full speed passes back and forth. Water is to small so I have to make small turns everytime.

With my run of yesterday the temps were pretty good:
        Engine: 37 C
        ESC: 45 C
        Lipo: 50C

        Cheers,
        Remmie

Yes most run these esc with no lvc because of the early cut off that they have with the Turnigy & Seaking esc. That motor you have is a y wind & is suited to 11.25 degrees - 15 degress timing, low timing under 5 degrees is for d wind motors. Martin.

Oh youre right about the timing. Think I mixed something up
Well, I will be reprogramming the ESC tonight :-)
            Thanks!

ok, ive been out to the pond again. Although I have to search for another pond now.
When I start to accelerate I have 3-4 sec before I have to let go the throttle again because I ran out of water.
Not bad though from 0-> (almost) 60mph in approx 3/4 seconds.
But with only having 3-4 seconds of driving I wonder if the GPS is able to record the top speed (as it needs some time to measure it).

Main thing is that I have fun with it :-)

Ive changed the timing to 15 degrees and was driving with the x440/3.
Lipo discharged a little bit more then I wanted, but thats not a problem, it was not extreme hot and or ballooning and still was at almost 3,7 volt per cell as you can see on the pictures with almost same voltages per cell.

Nice build you have there, very clean and well thought out. Get some vid for us!!
Make a wake, did you run the 4S with the x440? I am wondering how you got such a wide difference in mph going down a prop size and up one cell count. 12 mph seems pretty far apart.
