@Steve
Thanks for your feedback.
Normally I first "tack-down" the motormounts with 5min epoxy and then fix them with 24 hours epoxy.
This time I wanted to go stronger because of the reason you just gave (high speed crash) so directly started with the 2comp glue as far as I could reach.
Tomorrow when the glue is hard, i can take out the motor and reinforce the innersides.
EDIT: normally I do use cloth for reinforcement but this Polypox glue is extreme strong stuff. In my gas-engines boats the engine rails dont come loose with only use of this glue.
cool just lookin out, i had the same boat i did like u and and built the boat how i wanted it i, i did order it with 4" rails for added strength and ran 4s2p with the batts between the rails. also i first used a strut but then got a stinger which helped the boat with the added length if i were to do another one i would get a long srtut bracket to be a long as the stinger and have a bit more prop depth adjustability - great looking carbon work btw should be a fast boat
be carful with setup u have heat wise thats a pretty high kv for 5s i had a 2000kv 3680 motor and ran on 5s with identical battery one time and battery was swollen and all electronics were way above normal 4s opreation temps had a x442 i think but hey maybe i had to big of prop, so i suggest u start small x440

Yeah, nice carbon work. you have any tips or tricks to share on how to get such a nice finish on the carbon?

You want to know only how to finish the carbon like that? As a finish I directly go over it with a brush (that I use for putting the carbon in) with a small amount of epoxy.
Just a tiny bit is enough.
Started with a carbon 42mm prop, trimtabs way up, drive neutral but that was not like it should run.
Getting boat in again, adjusted trimtabs to neutral position. That was much better.
Still need to set it up better, but for the first run its pretty ok.
ESC: Cold
Engine: Cold
Lipo: Normal temp
Power: Enough
Ive put the 180esc on no cut-off.
As soon as i hear the revs going down I stop driving it.
Run 2 lipos like that yesterday and both had 3.2 volt per cell.
So more then safe.
@make a wake
Just for fun to see how it would run and because it can.
I will probably drive it in the future on 4s parallel and for speed run on 5s
I was curious what it would do (also regarding temps)
With this setup its way to light. Only 3070gramms.
I have a Pursuit which is basically the same hull, ran it with a 4074 2150kv on 4s for a year, spinnin an x442 it would top out at 47 mph or so, I threw 5s in it once with an x 440 to see what it would do and it got to 59 mph.
Nice build you have there, very clean and well thought out. Get some vid for us!!
looks every bit of a pursuit hull...i run mine with two 4s in parrell and a m445 prop no heat probs at all.....took a stright edge and ran the trim tabs down till they just touched the stright edge ..that took all the bad habits out of it......
Yes i think its a copy of the pursuit.
Im now 1mm above the edge of bottom with my tabs.
Will see how that goes. If that doesnt work i will drop them little bit further.
I have seen the m445 being mentioned very often here.
Does someone have a link were to buy this?
