        That should work to,
Just try and run the boat first and see what it does.
Than see what the sanding does for it,
        Step by step.
        ? ONLY IF THEY WORK

              Do not use that clear,
Till we know what it is.
It could make the paint bubble up if it not for that kind of paint.

If you used Krylon color paint and then use Krylon clear over it be VERY careful. I used that combo on a boat and it lifted the paint. Had to scrape and sand down the whole hull and do it over. Didn't use the clear the second time. I've heard of several people having the same problem.
I followed all the directions for drying time and surface prep. Hopefully someone can give you some tips so this won't happen to you.

The same happened to me as well twice I gave up with krylon and went back to ppg pains and a spray gun I have a new process I am trying on a hull this week it is called hydro graphics it is when you basically dip an item in a tub of water with an layer of ink floating on top with the image you want imbedded in it. It simply wraps around the object you are dipping. Yeah kinda weird but it works great I might post up the services here as well I need to figure out prices on different hull sizes

Mason,I use a clear called U-pol Clear #1.It is awesome but you still have to be careful.Try whichever clear on a scrap piece of something painted.I went through a badf clear experience a couple years ago and I was using the same brand paints as well.

I think it Is the Differences Between Lacquer & Enamel Clearcoat that is the problem,
                                I forget how it want,
You can paint lacquer on top of enamel, But not the other way around.
