        Primer

If only i didn't have to work! Anyway I've got 3 light coats of primer on the hull, spent 1/2 day sanding all imperfections out of the primer, this hull is starting to look real clean. This week will be very interesting, i get my decals on thursday ,the boat will get her last coats of top coat. then i will polish the boat add the decals. 2 light coats of clear to protect the decals. Then to turn my attention to the inside. The motor mounts are the next on the list.

          Rick,

Build looks great, one question for ya mate, have you thought about making your exhaust pipes into water outlets for your cooling system. I have thought about it for my Hpr06. I have the parts made but keep coming across other ideas.

Thanks Neal, mate i do like the water out the exhaust, I think for this one I'd like to keep the hatch simple. I'm thinking of putting them on the sides of the spoonsons . like the ones in the pic

              update

The hull is painted, I've started to detail the canopy. Still waiting on my decals. hopefully they will be done this week. The carbon pod ended up real nice , it looks like it's suppose to be there!I've changed my mind on the wire drives,I'm now using 3/16 flex cable, reason being the motors are to close to the transom to use the wire. I think the flex will be a better option. Also the stub shafts inner dia is 3/16. This weekend I'll glass in the motor mounts and sort out the drives!

Ozzie, mate I'm going with counter rotating octura x442 sharpened , balanced , detonged. And left/right spinning flex cable.

i am still undecided as how to run as i posted a question about counter rotating or both left. only response i got was if you are running oval it doesnt seem to make much diffrence either way

With this size cat running 2 motors , IMO you have 2 option counter rotating either inward for handling or outward for speed. running the 2 motors the same way i think you will get to much roll on initial acceleration ( coming out of the corners, accelerating down the straight) Same thing happens to a single drive. So unless you are running oval all the time i would suggest counter rotating props. My cat will be setup with counter rotating inward spinning props.

okay thanks bonewar. problem i have found with mine i couldnt get the stingers in real close to the inside of the sponsens and if i go counter rotating props it could cause trouble in the corners e.g turning right if the hull tips to the right hand side the left prop lifts up loseing bite but the right hand prop digs in and tries to turn the boat left. (if that makes sense)

Remember OZZIE you'll have more weight with the twins , I really don't think it will be a problem . With the stingers get them as close to the inside as you can, I've seen the stingers placed in the middle of the spoonsons transom on one of my friends h&m M1 SUPERCAT . It didn't make that much difference in the handling and performance of the cat . So i think you will be OK. He also runs counter rotating inward props.

after reading your post again and thinking about it i see how inward rotating props would stop a lot of bad handleing issues. i am now thinking i mite go with 380 8ls on 3s only problem is props. i usally try to get most of my parts from ose and the smallest pair of props i can get is x442 . mite have to trim them down. although with both motors pushing they mite be okay. cheers scott

The hatch decals have come out well, much better than I would have expeted. I used the files you sent me and am waiting for my decals. now I'm wishing I had had some made for the hatches.
