i think boondale may have a 4s limit on batteries as well. i have thought about dropping the inside motor speed down as well was going to see if i could do it with the mixing as i will be mixing the 3rd channel to run the second motor

Have you guys tried backing the speed off a little, Start the turn and than feed the power back on again? Works well with my twin Maritimo.Comment

Has anyone set up a Maritimo or any other cat with stern drives (Z drives)
I would love to make a scale version like the real ones
MHZ has the Black Hawk versions that look to be the right size if the transom got some mods.Comment

Logger
Finally got my logger back , also bought another one so soon as the weather permits I'm going to run the cat with 2 loggers to get a real clear picture on whats happening , should be very interesting reading. I've been running the cat with a mates SV27 (73 KLM/H) The cat looks to be almost twice as fast , So can't wait to see what the loggers have to say !!!!! To finish this build thread i will post all of the info on the SPEED,AMPS,HEAT,RUN TIME , SET UP. Stay tuned BONEWARSIMRAD MARITIMO TWIN 1512 NEU'S , M12 MARITIMO SINGLE 1527 NEU , SV27 1509 NEU , SV27 NITRO O.S. 18CV-R 3.0cc WATER COOLED RACE ENGINE.Comment

Go and have a look at this article for some explanation to get twin cats around corners : http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/Com...win_motors.htm
It refers to this mixer : http://www.action-electronics.co.uk/mixers.php. ...Unfortunately this mixer won't work in FE brushless applications. Here is their reply : "Our P40C is the only mixer which will operate separate speed controllers. Unfortunately it is a compound mixer which will reverse the inboard motor in a turn so it would be a bit too fierce for a high-speed model. It was designed to work with conventional speed controllers and I have no experience with brushless technology – save that a brushless ESC works on an entirely different basis to a conventional “brushed” one and I don’t think you can readily obtain one which will run the motor in forward and reverse. Sorry we couldn’t be of more help, but thanks for your interest in our products. Dave MLast edited by lomdel; 05-03-2009, 04:01 AM.Comment

Update props
The Maritimo is back!!!! I have finally had a chance to try out some CMDI cnc 3 blade (38 60/3) and a set of Graupner 45mm L/R . The cnc props cavitated like crazy for the first 10m then they would hook up and the cat would start to get going. The top speed of these props was OK , but bye the time they hook up the race would be half over. The Graupner 45mm props take off was fast but the top end speed seamed a little slow, so i changed back to the Octura x 442 cupped/detonged and back to jump out of the hole take off and a very fast top end speed. I have 1 more set off props to try out , they are a set of cnc 45 69/3 .I just love the way this hull handles the water, You can drive her around a corner real hard , The hull starts to slide out it looks and sounds awesome. And it handles 3'' chop with ease , My little sv27 is almost uncontrollable in the same condition. I had the boat set up with 2 v3 loggers but i had forgot to upgrade the software on them so i got no readings. next week i will try out the other cnc props/ And get a real nice picture (loggers) of how the boat is preforming. I finally took the boat with everything on board down to the butchers shop to weigh it , total weight was 4.6kg . So next week i will add the rest of the details ( speed, amps, run time, heat) to finish this thread. BONEWAR

Ahhhh that thing is soo sick!! Youve got to know how much you inspired me to do my timo build!! Have you heard of anyone seeing anyone having good results from the cnc props? What a bummer, and waste of money im glad i only bought three....anyways, lookind forward to seeing more footage. Im only waiting on my thermal paste and ill be out in the water as well...cant wait to see what kinda amp draw, and speeds you got. at least throw a gps in it meanwhile and see how the props differ in actual speeds, would be interesting... I.e - time it takes to get up on plane and time it takes to reach top speed per prop set up...too bad you live in AUS. Or maybe too bad i live in US....Man i would really love to have the two Timo's out roosten together..

Maritimo update
I took the cat for a run at the local dam today, had the loggers on board for the run and got some good readings. MAX AMPS-130 , AVERAGE-55 AMPS , MAX SPEED 102 KLM/H , LIPO TEMP 38.9C ,ESC'S TEMP 42C , MOTORS TEMP 43C , MAX WATT'S 2410. RUN TIME 6 MINS. I think the amps and watts are high because on the crash. I had my friend videoing the run he missed my real fast laps and a corner at almost full throttle , but ha , at least he was there to help me!! After the crash i bought the boat back in and everything was fine, i took the loggers out and then run the boat for the fastest laps I've done with her. The loggers tell me that i was doing 95klm/h on those first set of runs, I can't wait to see what they have to say when i get a couple of real nice runs in , the boat is definitely over 100 klm/h, just need the logger to tell me this, so hopefully next time I'll get it on vid and the loggers. I am very happy how this boat has turn out it's a rocket, and it loves to jump, I had it jump it's own length today. It has so much power it scares me!!!! Anyway here is the vid from today. enjoy!!!!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_ZCf7mOXmc BONEWARLast edited by bonewar; 01-07-2010, 08:50 PM.SIMRAD MARITIMO TWIN 1512 NEU'S , M12 MARITIMO SINGLE 1527 NEU , SV27 1509 NEU , SV27 NITRO O.S. 18CV-R 3.0cc WATER COOLED RACE ENGINE.Comment
