That looks awesome! The gold flake should really sparkle out in the sun. I cant wait to see what it looks like running.

5000mah will not be enough capacity for racing (1 mill lap, 6 laps, 1 cool down lap). Lipos may swell and burn esc. I would use atleast 6200mah 30c

Thanks Detox. Definitely not racing this boat. I'll probably run it a couple times then sell it and start another. The fun for me is in the building, not running.

                  Wow, amazing paint job!
I had that same style hatch on mine, then it got nailed in a race. I got me an FE cowl and now the baby handles so much better!! I only changed the hatch and removed 5oz weight and gained 15mph...
Running 6S2P each being a 5000mah Nanotech 45-90. She likes the weight - I see most people adding lead to the nose who use less total capacity, so I thought I'd try it and see.

Think about getting an FE hatch to see - would be a nice comparison, plus it looks cool. I like the one on there also, totally dig the turbine hatches, but if they impact handling, they are gone for me.

Thanks Jesse. Doug at oversprayers.com did the paint. He is also a member on this forum. Do you have any pics of the cowl?

                        Thanks for catching me Todd...

The difference may have been closer to ten, but the main thing was that it did a lot of hopping with the turbine cowl that slowed it and heated things up more. Maybe lightening her up could have helped too (took out 3 oz lead and the 5 AA rx pack). That's why it would be interesting to have both cowls to compare just the cowls.

I should have stated "I gained 15 mph by lightening and changing cowl."

                        I will upload photos soon.

Looking great! Make sure you get some video when you run.

I agree with Jesse and Detox and would also advise to run 2 5000mAh packs. This hull needs that weight up front to keep it down plus you'll get longer run time and less stress on the packs. As Jesse, I run Nanotech 5000mAh 6S2P 45-90 also and the batts only get warm.

always great to gain that much speed at once

Getting closer to the water. ESC mounted. Strut and rudder mounted. Turn fin mounted. Just a few more small things and it's time.001.jpg002.jpg003.jpg004.jpg005.jpg

Finally got her in the water. After much reconfiguring, she is running well. First run temps. Batts 91, ESC 130, motor 95. Made the mistake of running cooling to motor first. Had timing set at 15. Rerouted cooling to ESC first. Set timing at 8 and all temps were below 100. Will video next run. I'm satisfied. Thanks to everyone who helped me make this happen. I appreciate you all.
