Shockwave 36 FE Rebuild

Well I put a leopard 4074 1800kv in the shockwave, To replace the bent shaft on my feigao 9xl 1898kv motor.
I wanted to try the t600 1400kv in it, But I need to find or make a water cooled mount for it.
I will try 4074 in it tomorrow and see how it does and maybe some video to of it.

Hey whats going on,
Yes, Got it wet today and all temps were good.
But my speed is down and I am not sure why, 32 mph gps.
Timing is set 7.50 for the 4074 1800kv, Ran 4s2p 25/35c 5800mah with a x445 prop.
That is what I have bin running with the 9xl and got 40 mph.
I wanted to try the t600 1400kv, But need to find some motor bolts a water cooled motor mount for it.
Have you run your again ?

The OSE Speed Calc says you should get 33 mph but it is strange that a motor with the same KV got you 7 mph faster. I am still learning about timing. I was running my Pursuit P Mono with a 4082 2180kv at 11.25. For the last two races today I advanced it to 15 and it seemed to run faster.

We had our monthly club race today so I have not got a chance to run it. I finally got my EKOS ESCs working last night, I have to put some vacuum caps over the stuff tube at the motor coupler and then I will be able to run her. I put it in my pool and just bumped the throttle. Wow! is this thing going to be fast.

Whats up with the shockwave ?
Make any headway on it ?
I ran mine today and my rudder flipped up on it,
But lumped it in, I think I hit a big fish with it.
It happened two times to me.
I am running with one bolt in the rudder, To save the transom and rudder.
So be careful of sea monster.

Hey Lenny,

I have spent the past few weeks getting ready for our last race of our season, which was held today. Yeah, here in AZ, we don't race in the summer - too hot. It's our version of winter.
Now that I am done with racing for a few months I will just do some enjoyable sport running wit the Shockwave on top of the list. I have several different motors to try on it.

I hear you about the Sea Monster. I have been running in a straight line and all of a sudden, I hear a WHACK and my boat flips. Our monsters here are turtles usually.

Next time I run the Shockwave I will let you know how it goes.

Hey,
Just a heads up on mine,
I tried the boat with the air dam off at high speeds and I think it was little more stable.
I ran it in some good chop and so far looking pretty good to,
Also I moved the timing up to 15* on the leopard 4074 2200kv,
And got 39mph with 4s2p 25c 5800mah packs and a x646/3 prop and temps were good.
