What about that motor in a 40" mono, same prop?

Weather has been good in Toronto... ponds are open, which has been great ... little chilly this week.

I had the boat out and been pretty impressed. No long runs yet, just checking temps, plumbing, tracking, and all that boring stuff.

The pond I have been messing around in is really too small for the boat to unwind it, but I did get one run in the open water just to get an idea of were I stand.

Boat runs 58 mph with a mod x457/3. That was two quick runs and the lipos did not reach operating temps so there is likely 5-10% more just in that. Weather was cool and I just did a super short run so I can say if the motor "runs cool" ... that being said, it seems ok and is ready to be pushed a bit.

Nice starting off point ... I think low 60s in a heat race setup is within reach.

It'll run solid in that setup Ray. Your mono is likely lighter than this thing. I was thinking of using the same motor to repower my 42 Seaducer or maybe the 5698 2Y 910Kv one.

The 5692 lacks the punch of a big Neu so its not going to get off a corner as well.

What's happening with racing this year?

        Repowered ...

I sort of hit the wall with the 5692 Leopard 1090Kv motor. I was running 8s2p. Boat was running low 60s, but, IMO working a bit too hard to do it. Best I saw was 65.6mph with a pretty hard setup. It could run 61.7mph without too much trouble. Still, the temps were getting into the yellow a bit for me, and I felt the boat had more. The Leopard is going in my Seaducer 42" now.

So in goes a Castle 2028 Motor, Hydra 240Hv, and Polyquest 25C 10s2p 12000 mah.

I flirted with a 5698 and a 22 Series Neu, but the difference in diameter between the 2028 and the 5692 was only a 1 mm and easy to machine my existing motor mount to make things work. Had to move the clamp bracket back a bit, adjust the esc mount, and fiddle with the motor wire/plumbing lengths to make everything happy, but it fits very well. I have a turnigy HV bec in there to, but won't try that for the first few runs.

I also lucked into a new cowl for the hull. I actually got two in the deal (Turbine and Armadillo). Being brand new it came out a lot nicer than the other one, that was just too much work. Little carbon fiber sheet cut to fit, and some carbon glass for re-enforcement and its nice and water tight. I added some bolts to mount the cowl on.

No paint ... yet ... likely something simple.

Hopefully back in the water this week and running over 70mph.

Is the Blue wire for Becor home made anti-spark for HV?

It's is an anti-spark setup. Have them on pretty much every esc now, especially the hv stuff.

Thanks. They are nice hulls. Saw them run in Ohio at a Cafe and really liked them. Nice handling boat.

He is quite intrigued with my powerplant ideas(twin 1717).The full hatch looks great.

That will be a great FE oval hull. Andy told me the boats handle great and the only minor complaint people had was a bit of top end loss due to the boats being stickier (not blast cat sticky, but a tad sticky haha). That won't be an issue with electric power and the speeds you can push it ... will probably make the boat even better.

The R-42 was the hull I wanted originally, but couldn't pass up the deal on this stryker.

                                Good day at the pond.

                                Little micro drifter was balastic.

What would be my LSO is really running good. Gotta get to a race so I can see how good.

Had the repowered F41 out for its first run. Tossed a little x447/3 on it (same prop I got 51mph with the 5692). Boat ran a very wet 59mph. Temps all good. Lots more in it. Forgot all my bigger wheels on the work bench There were some people learning to paddle board in the same bay so probably for the best. The boat's CG is all messed up now with the bigger motor and batts. I The 6000s are really big and there is not a lot of space to shift them back. Hopefully it sorts itself out as it pushes over 65mph. I don't want mess with the strut angle ... Makes the hull washout on the turns.
