    Jimi,

    Check this out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNtDBwaJhdc

Special Thanks to Bill for filming this. Unfortunately he was not at the lake on Friday, "Offshore Day".
I was warming up at Nats making sure I could make it 4 minutes. I did manage to win S/T Offshore class with my Stryker.
    Good Luck with your build!

That's a great running boat ... what do you have for power in that?

        Jimi,

        I was running a NEU 2230 on 10s2p. The prop was a X450/3 blade.
Very conservative....it would run about 4min 30sec with the small prop.
This is the carbon fiber version. Built like a tank

Thought so ... sounds like my Lazer ... 2215 in that. the big Neus are great. I have no idea what to expect with this leopard. Its a cheap experiment ... if it doesn't have the power to push this thing than I will probably grab another 2215 1.5Y and toss it in.

I machined the skeg strut a bit to allow the stuffing tube to insert into the front of the strut .250. I will add a bit of shrink tube over it later to smooth it out for water flow.

The motor is also setup so the stuffing tube is exactly the same length as my Lazer45. That means they both use the same length of cable ... which is handy should a blow a cable.

Just a suggestion, one size bigger tube glued in would make adjustments or replacements of broken stuffing tube much easier. An example here post #8 http://www.jrcbd.com/showthread.php?...fing+tube+size

Looking good Jimi. You'll really like the boat. I'm still racing this one, http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...ffshore-Hybrid
I've had to break out the glass a time or two and the cowl is considerably shorter that it once was, but she keeps on takin it. LOL

              Keep up the good work!

I probably should do that butch block -type thing. I have done if on a couple of smaller cats and have one in my new Phazor. I liked them for maintenance ... if you blew a stuffing tube it was much less work to fix, but I never found too much of an advantage with adjustability. I think the gas guys have a shorter run to the strut on their boats, so its tougher to get the gentle bend an FE boat can have and still keep a decent CG. I was sorta worried that the torque of the motor might be an issue and keep ripping it loose. I'll give it a go ... good suggestion.

Good looking Stryker there Mr. Smock ... I'll never go to the dark side ... unless its a full scale race boat.

I thought that same thing. I have a pond close by that I run the electrics in and have to drive 30 miles to run the gas. But boy it's so nice to not have to wait for lipo's to charge and not worrying about burning up expensive esc's.

                      Pretty similar.

The Leopard in this boat is a 5692 2Y
                      - 56 mm diameter
                      - 92 mm long
                      - mass of 32 ounces
                      - 1090 Kv

                      A Neu 2215 1.5Y
                      - 56ish mm in diameter (only found finned spec)
                      - 84 mm long
                      - 24.8 ounces
                      - 1020 Kv

I have the 2215 1.5 Y in my Lazer so I should be able to make a decent comparison ... in about 5 months when its warm enough up here!

Cool, I ordered one of the $72 Turnigy Pro 5692's and was thinking of putting it in the top gun hull I have.

Oscarel - GPS with the 2230 was 82mph(not in race trim) 74mph in race trim.
I started out with a 2215 1.5y in this hull and managed 76mph. Way too loose to race with though.
I never did check the speed you see in the video.

Jimi - I did have a skeg strut on mine but wound up cutting it off. In choppy race conditions, the boat would hook coming out of the turns. If I loosened it up, this would go away but the 2230 had too much power to run loose. FYI

Again - Good Luck with the build
