I have to agree w/ Jerry. The red doenst look right to me. Maybe a bright orange? Or softten the edges of the red w/ silver or black using an airbrush? I think it goes well w/ the blue, but something about it and the green. It looks ok, but I think there is a better color.
    The concept looks killer tho

Funny thing is i've been struggling with the red too!! I like it one minute and not the next. I had the Silver "pin stripe" idea before i even started any paint testing, went the red route for grins and giggles. I like the idea of a bright orange pin stripe too, might look better. You guy's are both right, something about the green and red just doesn't look right, but it goes great with the purple. It's a very bright green, pics are slightly decieving. I'm not sure, got aways to go before i start laying down the paint on the hull, i'll have to do some more tinkering with the colors!

The bright orange idea would pop to the eye for sure but i dont no,, well the painting its self looks good thow looks like youll do a good job with whatever colors you decide!!! as for me painting the hull is my favorite part but sometimes a real pain in the azz,,, but it realy gets you juiced up once you get paint on it, then you really want to finish it..

I'm definatly on board with the contrasting colors like that. You just have to play with colors between the green and blue. The pinstripe would make a world of difference,I know it did on my Miss Behavin'.

My favorite part to, i love doin the paint work!! Well the red pin stipe is out, i just couldn't get used to it. So i went back and went with a silver stripe instead, maybe a little to bright of a silver but it's all i had. Still, i like it better!! But i don't have any orange to try, in my head the orange is sounding very tempting!! I'll have to run up to the hobby shop one of these days and grab some orange. No matter what i do in the pics the center looks blue, it's not, it's purple!!

Are you having any decals on it? I think its going to look sweet with that colour scheme.

Not really sure yet on any decals, probably just the small FighterCat logos, i might do the large "FighterCat" decals on the sides. I like the silver too, i'm trying to figure out a good way to have both some silver and some orange in the scheme. Probably get it into primer in the next week or 2, then the lime green base by X-mas, i have a week and a half vacation over the X-mas-New Years holiday's, that's when i plan to lay out and paint some graphics.

Not to much really, been busy with other stuff lately. I did make some cowl hold downs that work really good, I'll grab a pic tomorrow night. Also pretty much finished sanding out the hull, it's almost ready for primer now. I have almost 2 weeks off of work over the Xmas-New Years holidays, that's when i plan to hit it hard and get as far along as possible.

I made the "cowl locks" with some 6-32 threaded rod and some cap nuts to give a clean look. For the front i just epoxied in a metal rod with a hole in thru the hull. Nothing special, but it works, and i have penty of room to tape the hatch down too. I've been trying to come up with something under the cowl to make it water tight and not have to tape the cowl down, any ideas? Tape is still probably the best idea.

I am trying to get away from the taping as well. I am hoping this works for me, time will tell.Hatch Seal.jpgHatch.jpg

Nothing beats tape. Be like Nike, just do it.

I installed blind nuts under the inner lip of my hull then put my hatch seal ontop of the hull lip and cut out where the bolts come threw, then i put the bolts straight threw the hatch to connect with the blind nuts and works great so far with no tape!!! but just incase of high speed flips i put four in, one in each corner to pinch the seal evenly around and no chance the hatch will come off.
