Even tho i have no expirience with the Daytona/Genesis hull, level with the bottom is exactly where i'd start. I do have a 32" Aeromarine Sprint Cat .21 nitro that ran really good and thats where the strut was set, pretty much a good rule of thumb with cat hulls.Comment

Yup its a good starting point. Ill have to dig up old posts to find where I finally ended up w/ mine when I had it.Comment

Looks like Christmas came early for me!! Just got a bunch of stuff from OSE including the Leopard 4074 1800kv motor and the Seaking 180 ESC. I also got the programing card for the 180 as well, have to read the intructions a bit more, this ESC seems a little intimidating at first glance, but a nice looking unit! I'm actually a little supprised how big the ESC really is, takes up a bit of room, glad to have Gimps boat for a reference as to where to position it and run the wires!!

Fear not Matt, i've been working on it!! I just got the rear hardware re-mounted and this time i got it right!! I was a little more carefull about drilling the first hole, then i bolted on the strut/bracket minus the rudder and drilled out the other 3 holes, much more precise now! Plus I've been doing the "body" work to the hull using some Bondo spot filler to smooth out the hull join seem, got the port side ready for primer, about half way done with the starboard side. I think i have a paint scheme thought out, just have to find the right colors to go together and figure out a lay out. Probably gonna go with a Sublime (bright Mopar) Green with some blue/purple/silver/red graphics!

Good job 01, looks like you got the gear nice and even and the bondo work looks good too,, i didnt realise these hulls came with a seem around them, but good work.Comment

Thanks! Yeah there is a pretty good over hang at the seem, would stick out like a sore thumb with a nice paint job so out comes the Bondo!Comment

Playing with paints and colors, this is what i've come up with for a paint scheme for the Daytona so far! I painted this test peice for a couple reasons, one to see how well the colors go together and also becuase i'm using 3 different brands of paint to get those particular colors and i wanted to make sure all the paint's and clear were compatable! The middle purple color looks different depending on the light, goin from more blue-ish to purple, brighter darker, the pics make it look more on the blue side. What do you guy's think??
