I also have special prop equipment coming.You know I tried the prop down thing and it just doesn't seem to help anything.Though the 5017's don't seem too much different on either 5 or 6s.Maybe I should cut those down to 47mm which would then give me 1.85 pitch and hit some RPM.
I'll have to do some more studying when I get a chance.

On some setups it took me forever to find the right prop/s. Sometimes you just half to experiment with as many as you can. I generally like high rpm's with smaller diameter, but at the same time I have setups that are the total opposite. All kan say is keep trying different thing or talk to someone wit a similar setup and see what they are doing.

Lots of room on that lake.It is inland quite a bit so it is the local water hole for the kids and it has a beach and volleyball nets at the one end.All the buoys are for the water ski club which gives lessons there.I guess what I'm trying to say is when it is hot it is a busy place so I'll have to choose my times to run.But I like it.

Yeah,I keep trying.My prop box needs an upgrade soon.The list is getting long,I don't know who was suggesting 442's with these motors.I've worked my way up from there.
As far as the setup,I seem to be the only Shocker around that corners well,it does real good now.That was a mission in itself.

Well Shawn, if you have tried every prop out there and you want more speed start again from the bottom of the prop-list with an added cell. You might find that 7s with a say x447 would fly. just a thought. 8s and x447 should get you close to say 100mph. MAYBE...... its cheaper for you to finally fry something than buying all those props LOL

The HV Twin ESC is on the way Kent.I still have prop mods as well.But I think the 4518's or cutting something down to 47 and 1.9 pitch on 7s might do it. Props are good to have for future builds because I will eventually master this one.Then...

the 4518 is a good prop I think. you need a light boat to get it up to speed quick. I worked well in my mystic 114 once it got up in speed, but I could never put it on the 54". I love my new 4818/3 makes everything look effortless. they are a good "prop n' Go!" for sure. There is just so much to it. Its for ever confusing. LOL

Yeah,I still think those 5018's are the trick.These motors just may like the pitch.I guess there is only one way to find out.Get some 52's or 55's and cut them down.

Good to see you here Battle.The 5018/3's do have alot of bite.That is why I have been grabbing 2 blades from PropShop.I'll get it yet.Like Kent says the 48's may be the trick.

Hi guys thanks for the regards. I am doing great, having a blast with my old carbon fiber cat. The love kinda rekindle after 12 weeks lol. She was a shelf queen before a few hours ago when I took out to the pond. Question: I tried to gps my cat today, problem is I am not getting any data after several passes, I tested it well on my way back to home in the car and it was working. Did the carbon fiber block out the signals? I placed in the deck of course, not outside

I have never seen bended blade of CNC prop. When CNC prop fails it is usualy thrown blade like on prop on picture bellow. Thats my experience and exprerience of my colegues.

This prop threw its weakest blade under 24k rpm @ 4kW measured with ET in my MHZ Cougar boat.

Chris, I doubt a true CNC prop will throw a blade before anyother fabricated prop. In other words I would not trust any prop at the rpm's it would take to shear a CNC prop. I guess someone could do a poor job of designing a prop and have the CNC mill the blades too thin but then I would bet they would bend not shear. I will be watching to see if anyone can prove that concern.

Cugino, Thanks for your photos and explanation. Do you use the word thrown to imply that is what is happening or do you think they break off under load? In other words, and it may not be that important, but do you feel the blades are weak because they are too thin?
