Ok got system bench tested. All went perfectly, the deans plug is only an adapter so that I could test system on a couple of 2S lipos I use in an other boat. I will be using 5.5mm bullets. Also placed electronics in hull to do COG test. Came out right at 9" from rear of sponsons. And Christmas came early and all my new batteries came in. I will be leaving these in storage state untill spring. You have to love Thunder Power, every cell measured out exactly at 3.83 Volts.Bench Test.jpgBatteries.jpg

Looking for some advise. With carbon fiber hull. I have metal nipple for antenna would this be good enough for 2.4 antenna reception or will I have to put antenna tube on. I was thinking of running antenna wire to nipple and covering it with antenna cap. Any thoughts?

Personally I am going to try without an antenna tube (or mount) and check the range although my understanding is that CF limits the range considerably however its probably dependant on the quality of your rx/tx.

My 2.4ghz rx only has a 1" antenna so I dont really have a choice.

Ok got a bit more work done. I did do a bit of a bench test with a couple of 4S batteries. Notices that the teflon liner is slowly turning and crawling up the flex shaft. What should I do? Will this were in? Should I pull flex shaft and apply more grease?Electronics Done.jpg

when you put a peice of cooling tube over the end of the stuffing tube to stop water coming up it, it should help hold it down in there,, looks great but looks dry inside, did you use anything inside the hull to seal it, it will also darken it to match the outside of the hull..

I also noticed a slight wobble in the prop shaft. How do I remove the prop shaft? I have a square end flex cable. There is no set screw in strut, and it does not seem to slide out the back. No I did not seal the inside. I spoke to the dealer and he indicated this would not be nessesary. I did do a water test and all was dry.

that means you have the 2 peice 4mm shaft, so to remove it you will have to pull the flex out of the top( motor side) then youll have to remove the strut and the stub will pull out towards the hull side, my Genesis had that one and i hated it but everyones differnt. you dont have to seal the inside but i did mine just to make it match the outside and make it glassy looking inside,, looks cooler,, ill see if i can find a pic.

To clarify jerrys comment, its one or the other. You don't have to pull the motor and the drive. Just take off whichever you feel is easier and pull the flex out that way.

So I take it I have to remove the strut. What a pain, is there a good way to do this without losing the nuts on the inside of the hull? My other boat the flex is welded to the shaft, and the whole thing pulls out. Much simpler, I may need to do a retrofit if this becomes to cumbersome. From what I can tell I need to pull strut even to lubricate shaft.

Ok I guess I finally woke up and realized the strut will come off without removing the bracket. This should make things much easier.

Yeah, you don't take it of the transom. You do have to remove that part of the strut to remove the shaft, but you can pull the motor to remove the flex if that's easier. Either way it's a bit more work than one piece flex shafts.

Personally I would not run a model with a carbon fibre hull without a section of the radio antenna exposed above the hull. A carbon fibre hull can act as a Faraday cage.

                              Hi Matt,
Really, unless you want to turn it into a shoreline projectile, put on a tube and antenna and run it externally. CF dissipate's the signal out to the point where it is almost not seen beyond a 15-20 foot range. I hate to see you lose control of it and have it disintegrate before your eye's. That's allot of money to send into the dirt. Ask Hydrojerry about his control issue's.

Is that a Hobbyking receiver I see in the boat.I keep hearing they bind to Spektrum and are interchangable.Get a MR 200,at least you will have some wire outside the hull.I have no issues with my radio and CF hull.
