My setup on 6s Im turning 34410 rpm swinging a x447/3..I wouldnt go over that..I had a Miss Geico that I was running on 5s with a m445 and was getting about 50mph..
If it was me I would stick the x447/3 on it..Im having great results with mine..If the 3 blade scares you, you could have one cut down to a 46mm or 45mm..Im still thinking about getting a x450 and cutting it down to a 47mm for a bit more pitch but If I do that I think a different esc will also be used..

I remember a thread a while back about a motor being more efficient on a 3 blade so the X447/3 may be a great idea. I'm gonna contact my prop man tomorrow.

Hyperion 4s 4200mah 45-90c

Now this should pack a punch. Normally I wouldn't buy Hyperion Packs because they are a little out of my price range but I got this one Brand New on ebay for half what you'd normally pay.
First thing I noticed was the packaging. The box is a marvel in itself. Must cost a fair bit for each box too. (extreme profit so packaging necessary IMO)
2nd as I took battery out of box the balance wires are firm and a lot stronger than my other packs.
The discharge wires are 10AWG but have less bend than the usual lot.
I checked the cells expecting flat across the table balance but... they were 3.84 3.84 3.80 3.81 slightly out but I believe they have been sat for about a month or so from the previous owner. Would like to get another one to run in parallel but the only place I have found that I can buy them in the UK is at £81. On 1 battery I would probably be looking at 2mins or less I guess??

Cool! let us know how it goes.. I too have been thinking about better packs for more efficiency.. Im running the turnigy 40c packs.. But I do want to try some thunder power or other high end packs..Damn they are high $$$$$ though

I was told with Thunder Power packs if your pack comes to the end of its cycle life you send it back or something and you get 40% off your next pack!!! (so the next pack costs the same as Turnigy lol)
The Hyperion box says only charge this battery with a HIGH-QUALITY charger. Guess which one they recommend.....
I have the ECO 8 150W charger. I think its pretty good.
This Hyperion is quite light. I always thought light weight was a bad thing.

X447/2 would be 54MPH Top Speed so I guess a 3 blade would leave me at 57-58. I have bought parts to re arrange my set up. Here we go!

Looks great, I'd reroute the servo wire in case the stuffing tube gets a little hot and the servo wire gets melted, shorts, and sends your boat to the shore line at 50 mph.... that won't look great !! Jay.

Yeah good idea thanks, currently I'm swapping the position of the motor and battery stand but there is a lot of sanding to do first before anything can go back in.

Nobody wants to see the inside of my Hull right now.... Been here all day trying to get rid of old resin. Motor was stuck in good but eventually I kinda ripped it out. I have moved the servo back an inch, better position than it was in before. The servo wire(thanks Jay) I stuck a bit of hook velcro to the roof and then I wrapped loop vecro around the wire. Stuck in behind nicely.
My motor can sit flat near the front of the opening, I plan on putting some plexi over the top of the motor and mount with a bit of velcro on then I can stick the esc on top so that will leave plenty of space for my battery stand at the back. Think I will build 2 legs for the original battery board I built to go on. Hopefully covering the imperfections underneath.

I have a few things that should arrive by Sat morn; 18" Flex cable, 17" Teflon Liner, New balance board to charge Hyperion battery.

What I noticed about this hull was the overall weakness when tugging a little at something even when sanding. I felt scared to put too much pressure on it. I got to say the Pursuit I had from HK was a much stronger Hull. The Cyber Storm looks better though.

So my question is how far from the front of the hatch opening do I place my Motor? I plan on running single packs sometimes just for testing so I need the motor in a position where it's gonna keep the nose down a bit.

Hi Drax21, my DF Storm (orange) has 4" rails,keeps the hull firm, LP 4082 motor is 5 1/4" from transome , 4s batteries are right in front of the motor and can be moved forward 3" at least if need be . I use trim tabs and skid fins to set the ride. no teflon .187 cable 645 prop with no water coming in, your cable should be pushing the water out. Hope this helps, Jay.

Not knowing anything about building this boat I did a lot of research about what it takes to build a true, superior handling boat..The best advise I can give you after my experience with this hull is this..Decide on the best electric setup(esc - motor - batts) for your means..When you decide there and have everything in hand, put everything in the boat loosely finding a rough CG of 30%..When I say this, do it in a manner that you may change battery configurations (4s , 5s , or 6s) at any time if you choose too(this is what I recommend)..Believe it or not I can run 4 ,5 ,or 6s with my setup and achieve the same CG with any of the mentioned pack configs..You just have to decide on which batterys you want to run, know what weights it takes to achieve the proper CG, and finally the largest dimensions of the packs that your running..It takes alot of thought trying to figure this out but this is the way I did mine, and it was actually pretty simple..
I cant stress how important it is to be able to adjust your CG..That will always be your starting point in fine tuning a FE boat..Once the CG is found for the correct ride attitude, there are so many different ways to fine tune ride height ,prop walk, chimming ect without trim tabs..Youve seen my setup on 6s..If I wanted to I could run 5s or 4s and have the same handling characteristics as with 6s..
My suggestion is to mount the motor as far foreward as possible..Then you can adj CG with your batts of choice..

Also..Remember to keep your balance points as low as possible..The lower everything is to the keel, the more stability you can achieve..This is why I do not run motor rails or battery trays..Invest in some good industrial strength velcro for the battery-esc placement..You wouldnt believe the crashes I have had and everything stays put..If you want to reinforce, lay some fiberglass down in layers..My hull has taken a major beating from me just trying to tune her to warp speed..Really I didnt care if I tore up this hull tuning because if I would have, I would have just bought another one and went from there..
The point Im at now is very stable and while I do have a few cracks in the hull, It will last because there not that bad and my tuned hull now is smmmmoooooooooottthhhhhhh running!!!

Yours would be the 2nd without teflon. Why is this a benefit? I thought the cable would wear faster. Everything arrived this morning so I'm working on the supports for the stuffing tube first. I lost a Hex screw and washer out of the stinger the other day. Having a real hard job getting hold of a cone washer. Only place I have seen them is on the TFL website (DE)
