Can I recommend looking Fightercat racings direction for ESC's , they are very well priced way better than Castles units and come with an extreemly versatile adjustment package that is done through your computor , IE...timing in 1* degree incraments , fdw + rev with 25% , 50% ,75% , 100% , startup punch in soft , med , hard and other adjustments also .
Necessity is the mother of invention.............

What ESC are you going to run? I was thinking about grabbing the Hydra Ice HV.
Hi Roger, I really like this hull, been doing a little more work on it tonite but havent had a whole lot of time in the past three days working 12+ hrs a day Working on the ESC/Servo mount now, making it all out of aluminum stock......lookin' pretty good if i do say so myself.

I'm using a Swordfish 240hv, i find them very easy to use and i really need the extra amperage it can handle as opposed to the new Castle Ice 200hv.....fried one with a 2028 in another boat when it was pulling well over 200 amps and i knew better. If i were you i wouldnt use a 200a with the 2028. Thanks for lookin!!

How does this compare in weight with the 51" hull?
I bet you could get pretty close to 70!
Fleet: 55" Quad inline T600 Cigarette boat, Twin Mean Machine, Twin T600 47" mystery mono, 4082 Surge Crusher, 1717 8s Genesis, 4074 Villain, "mini mono", 52" Bonzi, Prather Funcruiser, 2 DPI 3.5cc tunnels, 5' Styrofoam recover barge

Well, the cats out of the bag now cuz Bill hit 70.7 with this same hull and motor!! 70 is my goal for sure..............I should get there based on what Bill did, but i can tweak things a bit and try to top him in friendly competion since we've been goin back and forth for a while now. The hull is certainly more substantial and much sleeker..............gonna weigh in at around 22 lbs i'm guessin'.

Punisher, Fightercat also has the programing box for his ESC's now.
they do the same parameters as on the computer.
takes me about 10sec. to program one once it is hooked up.

that esc (16S/220A unit) would be great in this boat. jmo
            182 bucks to boot.

Only thing is that the 16s ESC uses 10g motor wire.........i like/need 8g that the SF and Castle 2028 has.

That is awesome! If I wouldn't have found the hull I have for my quad I was going to get the fiberglass version of this one.
A 70mph mono this size has got to be a heck of a sight in person!

I am trying to find an excuse to get a FC esc.

                  Peter,
I just seen those in his store the other day. Have you used these yourself? Wonder how reliable they are.

I know where you're coming from. I have missed most of the summer because of working long hours. I just ran a couple of boats 2 weeks ago, that was the first time this summer. Well,,,atleast I am employed.

Sound like the 2028 is a real performer.

I have two of his ESC's and one is in a 32 pound 3080 powered 57" mono that been run on 14c , so far so good no issues . I am very happy with it so far

                        Gettin some more done!

I fashioned a set of "L" bracket aluminum rails that i bolted to the stringers with stainless steel bolts using small rubber bushings in between. The ESC mount is forward with the twin support servo mount to the rear. The ESC mount is bolted in place in the pic and the servo mount just set in til i get it all lined up with the steering rod.

Not a whole lot left at this point.......batt placement will be outside the stringer's near the back, and the front of the hull will contain about 6-7 pool noodles cut to fit.

                          Little more done

Servo aligned and secured with stainless hex bolts, a thick 1/8" rod handles the rudder.......went with an aluminum servo horn and a Traxxas 2075 High torque waterproof servo.......more beef than the 2056.

Is that servo gonna cut it??? What is the torque rating?

No insult intended, but I think you're going to need a better servo.
