            MHZ Lizard

Hi There Flying Scotsman i love your boat
i'm setting up the same hull and similar setup, and speed controller
but i have this motor Turnigy BL 36-56-2700 running on 6S Lithium, is this powerplant too small for this size hull ?
and what size rudder and surface drive are you running

            Regards
            Adrian

I am not familliar with that motor and It looks like a small can. I presume 2700kv. If that is the case WAY TOO HOT with 6S . What prop ?
The hardware is Speedmaster as previously noted. Please note I am borderline on my setup

              Product ID: ros-monosys

I have to agree with Douggie. That motor is way to small and the kv rating is off the chart for your hull & voltage. Sorry.

Hi Adrian, when I say borderline the esc is rated for 100 amps and the 11XL motor is rated at 1500 rpm per Kv. I am using 5S LI-PO therefore nominal RPM= 27,000. The hull is 32.5" L and total weight is 5.3lbs. I am using a small diameter prop Y537/3 to limit the amperage draw...I hope!!!
This hull size and weight is more suited to a large can high torque motor...KB45 XL, Neu power or transmission with Feaigo power. This what I had sitting arround and I hope it does not go POOF.
                    I hope this helps.

Adrian, motors can be cheap, quality esc and motors NO!!! If you look at the power to bucs equation

No pain....21 but you may wish to lower the rudder as far as possible.
When you get the hang of it, there are many guys that can help you, with more experience than myself.

                            Enjoy your build.
