Ridepads widened 1/8" and built up 1/16". Total height and AOA has not been decided yet. I will test different pad heights/angles by temporarily attaching them with 3M spray adhesive. Less AOA than stock may be needed.

I filled the void at taper using epoxy. When epoxy cured I used wood flour and epoxy as filler. Then sanded smooth

I have been using RAKA brand epoxy (350 hardener, 167 resin). Its lots stronger and less brittle than the Z Poxy finishing resin, but takes lots longer to cure. A little cheaper than the Mas brand epoxy also.

High build urethane primer (Buff color) has been applied and block sanded.

I am using the Zippkits finishing instructions:

Sand the hull. Fill any holes or imperfections with wood filler (microballoons and epoxy). Sand everything with 150. Seal the tub and sponsons with epoxy finishing resin. Be sure that all wood is sealed. Scrape/wipe off as much epoxy as you can. It will make sanding easier. When cured, sand with 150 and recoat with epoxy. This coat will use far less resin than the first. When this cures, wet sand everything with 220. If you are painting, sand the entire boat with 220. Now is the time for primer. Wet sand the primer with 400, and use spot putty to fill any imperfections. Wet sand with 400 and lay on a heavy coat of primer. Wet sand with 600-800 and paint.

I may copy this cool paint scheme. Grim Racer's Yellow Motley Crew development hull.

Hull has been painted using Summitracing's single stage urethane paint (Performance Yellow)

I will be using teflon liner with .187 cable. Teflon rides inside 9/32 brass tubing then reduced and soldered to 1/4 brass tube at strut. Octura coupler is fitted, but I will be using smaller Kintec coupler.

                      Nice job and good weight

How do you define the weight you add in each sponson ?

Before glueing down top sheeting over sponsons I figured my COG should be roughly 3" behind back edge of sponsons. Then I attached all hardware(esc, lipos, rudder, turnfin, etc). I then started adding weight to sponsons until it balanced out close to where I figured (3").

Adding more weight in the left sponson will help prevent left sponson from lifting while accellerating.
