That oughta work perfect! One other question/suggestion: are you planning on reinforcing?
I would be reinforce the entire tub with FG or CF - you want that as rigid as humanly possible; any flex will cause you drag.
One other idea: you might want to place her on a building board before reinforcing and applying decking; this will ensure a true and square hull, since you don't have any bulkheads to help."Look good doin' it"

you beat me to it jesse , i have been tossing up on , what to do about reinforcing the tub , i was looking at FG ,to keep the tub nice & open , but weight ? so may add some bulkheads once i work out the lay out of the motor , stuffing tube , ect ???????UL1- 1515 castle/neu / 240 swordfish

Got all the hardwear in place today & mounted the motor & made a servo mount , the build at this stage weighs 4- 1/2 lbs with the motor , servo & hardwear... just got to make the two side skirts that run down behind the sponsons then i can lay the decking ..

By the way the stock ones run that should be a great boat to drive/race, the UL-1s seem so stable right out of the box, I was impressed with my 1/12 scale elam but it seem s the faster I go the more sponson walking I get, I have added a UL`1 strut etc. for adjustability, we`ll see,Comment
great job on this scratch build hydro, cant wait to see it in action !!!
