since speed isn't really an issue, I would remove the BEC and run a separate pack, that should clear up the issue and give you slightly longer runtimes.

Strange. There is some sort of feedback going on in your esc. Disable the BEC and add on onboard battery for the receiver/servo. That should fix it. You can try it first by using a servo extension and cutting the red wire. Then put it between the esc and the throttle channel on the receiver. That way, if it's not the problem, you can eliminate the servo extension and go right back to using the esc lead as-is.
Plug the onboard battery 4.8V or 6.0V if you're using a 2.4ghz radio, (use a switch between the battery and receiver) and plug it into the battery input on the receiver.
If that fixes it, great. If not, you probably need a new ESC.
I have everything wired in and connected up and bench testing the motors are reving sporadically and I am not sure why.
Esc is programmed correctly and wires are connected accordingly??
I think I narrowed it down to having something to do with the bec.
When I disconnect the servo it seams to work normal but with the servo connected it spins the motors.
The servo is a s3003.Mini Cat Racing USA

OK so I took the servo out of the boat and laid it beside it hanging over the side of the boat with the receiver.
Everything works fine.
I put the servo back in the boat and the issue starts up again.
I tried multiple servos and also disabled the bec on the esc and used a battery pack.
With the battery pack installed the issue was worse as I had the pack and servo over the side of the boat and the battery pack caused the motors to act up.
Remove the battery pack and connect back the bec and servo over the side no issues. Put the servo back in the boat there it goes again.
Very strange.....
Only thing I can think is the motors are getting interference from something.
Both motors have caps on them maybe they are bad or bad connection??OSE GIFTING ELF

I just realized I changed the tx but not the rx before I was just changing out the crystal so I tried a different rx that I have and everything worked correctly.
One rx is a narrow band which is the one that was not working and the other is a extra narrow band which worked.
Is there a big difference in the two or in the one rx possibly bad?
The radios I was trying TX are a Hitec Aggressor & an old Hitec Ranger 3 Stick Radio.
I will try it out later with my 2.4 radio and see how if that works.Last edited by monojeff; 07-16-2011, 02:13 PM.OSE GIFTING ELF
