    Prohject Rescue Rig

Figured I'd make this boat into a rescue rig since it's not good for much else.
Boat originally called a flying fish.
It is 36" long & has twin 540 brushed motors.
Eventually I might change it to a 770 motor or outrunner but for now I figured I'd give it a go as is other then changing out the drives, props & adding a rudder.
I have a traxxas evx-2 marine esc that should be here soon & figured I'd run it on 3s lipo.

At the moment it is direct drive & I believe it was counter rotating props although they look to be the same to me but one of them I can't get to thread & it looks to be going the opposite direction from the other. The props look to be the same where I am pretty sure a counter rotating prop would be the opposite from the other.

I have removed the section where the red arrows are pointing & will be installing a rudder setup that I have where I can easily add a strut to if I change to a single motor.
I also plan to install 1/4" wood to the inside of the transom to stiffen it up & make a better mount for the rudder.

Will need some help on this one to get it going I am using all the spare parts I have handy as I am not wanting to put much money into this.

Not sure if I should go with a Flex or direct drive setup??
Also I am not sure what the black wires are that are attached to the stuffing tubes??

Any input or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!

Here is a picture of the drives & props, they have a screw built into the back of them.
I need to change out the shafts anyways as I do not plan to use these props or drives on the build.

I had an evx2 setup to run off one pack and built a jumper to use single 3s pack

Those have two inputs and you have to close the loop it set up to run series 2 6-7 cell packs

I am figureing as for the drive shafts going with something like this
              http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...?prod=cen-BJ14
Then for the porps using L + R carbon props just not sure on what size to go with.
              http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...or+4mm+shafts..
              http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...kwise+Rotation

I'll have to measure what the shafts I have now are & see if I can just use them rather then buy new ones.

The black wires to the stuffing tubes are most likely to cut down on interference from metallic contact that drives cheap AM radios crazy.

The reason you can't figure out the props is that that type of toy boat uses what they call VECTOR STEER. In other words, it spins one prop forward and the other backwards when you tell it to turn.

Well I think the guy who I got the boat from must have bought a new prop for it & got the wrong one would be my guess.

I cut some 1/4" wood & epoxied it to the inside of the transom today.
I also made up some frames to house some LEDs I will be adding to it to give it a scale look.

The theme I am going to go with this is something similar to this

Do a search for my sale thread and study the pic to see what wires need to be loop it not so cut and dry on closing the loop only two specific wires go together

Found it so basically just connect those two wires together correct?

Couldn't you also just connect the battery wires together positive with positive and negative to negative wouldn't that be the same thing?

Yea but look at wire placement if you connect the other two or wrong two poof

I'm assuming each side powers one motor.
Is jumping them better then connecting the + & - wires together??

Can you explain to me how that's even possible to jump them like that positive with a negative wire.

No the old one was one per side but the evx2 each motor sees the voltage of both pack the two two connectors are soldered to the board and get linked together much like linking a y plug
