So couldnt you just cap off the wires you have jumped?
Both motors would be powered by 1 set of wires and 1 battery rather then running it through the other set.

The Jumper acts like your wiring the batteries in series if I'm understanding correctly?

Sorry just new to all this want to understand all the variables.

I'm not exactly sure why but alot of experimenting to get this to do single batt

Been a busy week & have not had much time to work on boats but I did have a chance to glue some pieces of wood to the transom where I cut off the overhang.
I filled in the area with 1/32 ply that I glued together to make 2 1/16 pieces that fit nicely in the voids.

Put a little paste on there & just need to finish smoothing it out & sand the rest of the boat & start painting.

Well I did not give up on this project just been collecting some parts and painting the hull. This turned out to be one of the hardest things I have ever painted.
I had a lot of issues with the paint bubbling and doing weird things and I am not sure if it was the weather or paint I used but I got it finished. It's not the best work I have ever done but hey its a rescue boat so doesn't need to be perfect.

Next on the list of to dos is install the rudder and figure out if I want to keep the stock shafts for now or change them out to something else.
I also plan to install a few decals & possible some lights still undecided on the lights.

The cables on the drives add a safety feature, the power from the switch runs from one shaft to the other, the boat must be in the water for the radio to power on, this can just be jumped by connecting the two shafts by a jumper cable.

Well I worked on the boat some.
I was waiting on parts which I got in the mail the past week.
esc cooler & 3s lipo.

I made a coil for one of the motors as I already had one.
I also added brush coolers to both motors, I figured the more the better.

I am waiting on is my lipo alarm and charging adapter and I should have those in a few days.
I need to install the rudder and steering servo then I will be ready to test it out.

I will post some pics after I get the rudder and servo installed.

Well I thought I was just about ready to go with this but turn out the new props I got are not reverse threaded which my drives are so now back to the drawing board and I need to figure out what I am going to do. I have a few ideas stay tuned.

Here are some updated pics of everything with the rudder installed and stuffing tubes put back.
I decided to make my own drive shaft with an old proboat shaft that I cut in half.
I glued half of it where the coupler connects and the other half with the threads and drive dog on the other side of a piece of 7/32 brass tuning with some gorilla glue. I am not sure if it will hold or not but it seams to be very strong only time will tell.

The shaft I made fits perfectly inside the original stuffing tube and I had a 36mm prop that matched the counter rotating one that was already on the boat so hopefully the drive hold up and it should work out. If not I will figure something else out.

I am still waiting on my 3s alarm and I need to finish the push rod for the rudder and a water inlet then I will be ready to go.

nice, my concern is that with a long hull like this maneuverability will be the challenge. How are you going to rescue? booms out front or tow a line with a hook?

At this point I just want to get it in the water and get it running and see how it does.
If it does well then I was thinking of using booms out front of it.
But if that doesn't work then I guess a tow line would be ok too...

I'd put booms on it. A line and hook will just get tangled in the drives and rudder.

Thats the plan but I also figured if I was to use a line I could attach it to the extended part above the rudder with a tall hook of some sort like the gaff on the proboat duck but that is if the booms do not work which I think they will.

If it doesn't turn well then I know I just need to make wide turns......

I have everything wired in and connected up and bench testing the motors are reving sporadically and I am not sure why.
Esc is programmed correctly and wires are connected accordingly??

I think I narrowed it down to having something to do with the bec.
When I disconnect the servo it seams to work normal but with the servo connected it spins the motors.
The servo is a s3003.
