Because there are a bunch of members who want less classes and insurance reasons........I showed up to a SAW with a quad drive expecting to smash the record(wich i did for 2 hours) and they made me pull out half my batteries because of a millamp rule.........basically ruined 4 5000mah 4s and 4 5000mah2s packs by over C discharging them, my motors didn't run right....I never would have drove my motorhome to run the SAW if i had known.....also there are voltage limits....

SO we should make an outlaw class or league of our own.

An old friend of mine built a brushless miss vegas with an SV27 motor back in June 25, 2008. I reset the Garmin etrex myself then placed it in the hull. He taped her up and here's her entire run...

              vegas-69.9.wmv <--

The GPS read 69.9MPH. There was another time (not recorded on video) The same boat ran much better, but still in the 30's. A different Garmin came back with a reading of 101.? MPH
I am not trying to take away anything from anyone here. just keeping things in perspective.

I'm not saying that sh!t cant happen, but when you have repeated results the margin of error has to be greatly reduced.

Let the man have his thread, he built a sweet rig, it is fast, and his GPS said he went XX. this is not a number he pulled out of the air like so many people do.

                Example:
" She was in the 70's"
                Did you have a GPS?
"Naw I know how fast 70 is"
(The next statement almost always comes out next)
                You need a GPS

                .......

If they are so unreliable why do we use them as a fall back?

Also; I only got about 30 sec of video?? he never got to run it.

I'll take a gps reading any day. It is accurate enough for what most of us do here.

Rearwheelin My comments about the watercooling for the caps came across badly and I apologise to you. fwiw I have some very innovative ideas that have been on the water along with all of my hand crafted hardware and hulls.
