Careful what you ask for Pate. I'm a video nut.
I do have a couple of runs recorded on the Arapaho.

1st run, testing different props. http://youtu.be/jG1nCDRMO6o
(mostly put it up for a little detail on the boat)

    And a GPS run. http://youtu.be/hEU_dXcYujU

I don't know how to make them show the video in the message here though.

That thing moves well! Sad there are not that many big fe boats around.

And you can make the videos with preview pic on ose like this: [y t] add here the video link after the v= mark[/y t] -and remove the empty between y and t marks

like this [y t]PLT__wpp3MA[/y t] and remove the emptys between y and t and it looks like this (my other rc hobby)

I just placed an order of new esc´s , the ss series air models this time, a friend uses these and says the throttle feel is better with these then on boat versions. Will report back about that later.

      http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=14500

Will solder some brass tubes on the heatsinks for watercooling , the ss boat versions are never even warm so heat should not be a problem.

Will also change the motor connectors to 5.5 mm just to be safe.

I do have a build thread but it's over on RCGroups. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1433911
I started hanging out there several years ago before discovering FE boats. At the time I was a "jet junkie" and it was a good place to get my "fix". I kinda prefer doing my bulds over there even now since it allows for adding notes to your photos. (Plus I can get my vids to show without having to know any magic tricks)

I'm really thinking about de-tuning the Arapaho. It gets a little hairy at higher speeds and I have a 47" DF type clone with a Leopard 5692 in it that I could do a flip flop on motors with. The 5692 should put the Arapho in the 45-50 range where it's comfortable and the 2028 should make my S-T Mono a lot more competitive.

Try moving you CG up closer to 30% see if it settles down a bit , other than that a very impressive build ( I read it on RC groups )

            I have a 57" Apache with a LMT 3080/11

I saw the Apache runs back on page 1 of this thread and it's a very impressive boat, especially on the inside. Lehner & Shulze are a little out of my league in the cash flow department though.

The Arapaho seems to handle well up to about the 50 mph mark but after that it gets a little dicey. Chine walk at 65 is downright scarey. I've had a couple of people tell me that the rear needed to drop deeper into the water and will try a little more up trim on the stinger next time I have it out. If that doesn't help plan to do a swap on the motors. I've been looking for an excuse to change them ever since the FE Nats and seeing Ken's big T Mono run. It was all I could do to keep him from lapping me running the 5692 in mine. Actually he did lap me in the last heat after mine took a bad hop off a wave.

Yours is extreemly impressive considering the cash spent , my old setup was LMT 3080/12T on 2 x 12C5000's . The new setup is a LMT 3080/11T on 2 x 14C5000'S - Just converting it over now . The chine walk problem I had also because of my 26% CG but it has settled down moving it up to 28% .

There's quite a few of the Nats vids that haven't seen a lot of views so far. But that's my own fault for shooting so many. For the most part the quality is good but the quantity is overwhelming.

Ken's boat is an animal of some sort for sure. It speaks fluent German on the insides with Lehner & Shulze components. Perhaps it would be Schwein

Just lowered the struts a bit and looked at the props... -they turn inward .but thinking of trying outward tomorrow if that would make this a bit more stable.

Also made a new rx pack of 2s 1800mAh lipo and hk bec, hope it helps with the radio issues.

I started with the props spinning in on my big Thunderbolt twin cat but found it handled better with them spinning out. It's certainly worth a try. Most full sized V's run that way as well.

                              Looking good Mart!

Tried the boat today, handling was best I have ever tried, the outward rotating props were the answer. I can even raise the struts a bit next time.

                              video here http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...ad.php?t=26289

I also changed the color a bit, but mostly inside -guess I know for shure now that the esc has some problems... -boy was the hatch when I opened it!

The "fet board?" -in the middle of the esc was really crunchy, like a cracker... only one wire and 5.5mm plug survived .

Batteries, most of the flotation(pipe insulation and soda bottles) and everything else inside was black.(but not damaged)

Glad I had taped the hatch, if air would have got inside the flames would have eaten the whole boat !

Now where did I put that denat.alchohol... like Yoda said "the stink is strong with this one" (a bit of star wars humor...)

Glad I ordered 2 extra esc´s last week.

, oh and ordered the spectrum dx3c also

                              -Pate

                                Hi Pate,
looks like you had an eventfull day lol.
Glad everything else is ok,good boats them theyre even fire proof thanks for testing that out lol.
You know now you mention outward rotating props i never even gave it a thought but remember seeing this lots of times with twins that outward gives better handling inward more speed or is it the other way round .
When i saw the vid on the other forum i feared youd fried the new esc, glad to know it was the old dodgy one, seems you bought a dud as it wasnt right from the start was it.
Good luck with the new ones,im sure the boats going to run pretty fast, its def compairable to a stock zenoah powered apache speed wise.Looks great on the water too,you not tempted with a nice bright Magenta Apache to go with it hehe .
