Sounds good! And I would say 30 deg. and 16khz is the way to go.

Another thing if you don't already do this with these esc's, you can program them while using a 2s or 3s batt so they won't get as hot during programing.

Ya I use 3s for programming allways, but it still gets hot. I also use small inrunner while programming cause the huge outrunners make extremely loud beeps!

Got the motors few days ago, but the esc´s are still at customs -hopefully I get them monday.

The motor mounting bolts are 3mm and t600 had 4mm so I made the motor mount holes 5mm... -need to find few washers or something so the motors stay in the mounts.

The motors are really nice looking and I allready grinded the flat spots longer on the shafts to help adjusting the coupler position.

-What kind of clearence you guys use on 1/4" flexes between stuffing tube and coupler? -I had to turn the motor mounts around(the alloy center piece) so the front plate of the motor would fit and now there is about 1/2" or abit more of exposed cable.(I dont remember exactly and I dont have the boat here atm) -that 1/4 is really solid cable so I think that is not a problem but wanted to make sure. It is not that much that the coupler nut can fall off if loosen, it goes over the stuffing tube and not fall off. (if you can understand what I ment, again sorry for my bad english )

Half inch between tube and coupling is fine, are you using shaft savers ? if not id get some or do as i do and use small zip ties on the flex just in case the coupler lets go you wont lose your shaft and prop or props lol.Are you switching esc,s now as well as motors?.

No shaft savers yet Mart(mrat? lol),I allways forget to order them... -I do use zip ties but they dont hold that tightly ... -maybe enough though if the coupler slips/breaks.

No, still using the same type esc´s, I only have one ss air esc atm and got 2 more on their way. (the ss boat series that I got the first place are only capable for 15 deg. timing and I have one of them left, the ss air esc that I use now can do 30 deg so I needed more of them. -i could try 15 deg on both esc´s that I have but I think it is better just wait few days and use same type esc+s on both motors.) shame that hk site the ss boat series is capable of going up to 30 deg. timing but in real life I cant get them to go past 15 deg....

when it comes to choosing, just go with the air ones if you buy more, it's easy to watercool them and if you've ever owned a HK ESC, you will have a spare watercooling plate around, that is, if you salvage and strip your paperweights.

Got the boat wet today...wow. Tested the new motors -smallest plastic props and it barely touched water. Props spun inward, next I´ll try outward but that could spike the Amps...need to think.

Coated the esc´s with 3m dp260 this time and it did not burn after few drops of water on the esc so glad I did that coating!

drove about 6 minutes and temps were good, lipos, esc´s cold and motors about 55 deg. c. ,so the 55mm propshop props could work also.

Speed was better then when t600´s and 55mm propshop props, no gps but it was obviously faster. I belive that was close to 65kph ,but will gps er soon.

The new esc´s and motors are really smooth, slow driving and holeshots are easy. Still wobbly but outward rotation should solve that, if it wont burn the esc¨s...

Sounds good!! I am glad it is working for you! And it sounds like the propshop props will work as well!
I am getting close to taking a maiden with the 55incher I have been working on with 4 T600's.

so what was the final setup in terms of esc and lipos? I have read a bit on those motors and like what you have done with them

I paid more then on hc, but atleast himodel had them in stock. (and the motors look nicer then the hc red/chrome.

I also got all! of the stink off the hull. Wiped everything down using denat.alchohol, then sprayed odor remover(the stuff you spray on car seats etc. to get cigarette/other smells off) ,let that work overnight and then washed the boat with pineline(pine oil based cleaner from wurth).
Even the fiberglass smell is gone now!

FYI - I get these mfr direct. There's a magnet shortage right now and they are on back order at the mfr, which is why HK doesn't have them in stock.

                        Thanks, motors are Himodel/hc/suppo/FC 3740 910kv outrunners and esc´s are Himodel/suppo/HK 200A 2-7S.

FightercCat,magnet shortage, wow that is weird, have we used all the magnets allready ?-I guess thats why they are called "rare" earth magnets -really nice motors so far.

Hehe, no not because of lack of materials, it's because of the Chinese governments "rare earth metals" limits imposed this year. The costs also went up dramatically. 400% I'm told.

drove the boat today. only motors were warm after 4 minute drive. Another 3 minutes and the boat slows down... -lipo cut off? -no.... charged the batteries and one pack took 2500mAh and another 4500mAh..... -also the one that took 4500 was hot after that run and the motor that was hooked on the battery that took 2500mAh was much hotter then another. -Any thoughts?

The esc´s were cold to touch and since motors are warm I guess I can try bigger props next.

Gps 68kph on the 56mm plastic props, (wAS 55kph on the t600´s so these new motors are faster).

Check to be sure the motors and drives spin freely. The bench test, the props should start/stop almost exactly in unison.

For boat applications, the 10 pole 3740 motors are more efficient than the 12pole 4030's. (from my experience)

Both motors/shafts turn freely and both motors have the same throttle response .

maybe the mAh difference was that bad because I did mostly right turns and the left prop was in the air more then right one.

Also the pack could be bad, the cells were 3.2,3.7,3,5 and so on....not completely balanced. after few minutes of charging(7A) the cells were back in balance.

Anyways the Amp draw is so small..., -drove about 8 minutes and max 4500mAh gone per pack.

and since the motors were warm/hot and esc´s cold was it underpropped? <the 55mm propshops are just waiting to get wet!
