norm, are you saying the water jacket is going to hit the floor of the hull or is it because the etti mount is too narrow?

Dana, I have a mean machine with an etti 150 and leopard 4074 2200 kv motor and hit 57 mph on 5s2p I would recommend sticking with 4s2p on that motor since 5s2p is way to high of an rpm. FYI As for the motor placement, I put mine right where the cockpit would be on the stock hatch. Also you might find that you have to trim the rudder a little to reduce drag, but wait until you get her in the water first to see how she runs.

so can anyone tell me which mount will fit the leopard 4074 with cooling jacket without issues? i think i read somewhere the ones made for the leopards didnt work because the rear support got in the way...

The ETTI fits my CC/Neu 1520 with jacket. The Leo should be no problem.

I have the carbon fiber mount for the 4074/4082.It works with both motors with jackets. The rear support works as well.Just have to slip on rear support before the water jacket. You can buy the mount here at OSE.I think its about $25.

Dana, I used an old silicone one I had lying around and the temps were in the 115f. You should be ok with the cooling jacket using the orange water cooled mounts ose sells.

so tonight i drilled the holes for the stuffing tube, and dissapointingly found out the epoxy i put on top of the carbon fiber on the floor started to come up so of coarse once it started i just started peeling it all up. to my surprise none of it was stuck. can somebody please help me?. i didnt really do much prep other than cleaning it with some alcohol first, then just put on a heavy coat...cause i wanted the wet look.... what can i do to make this work? thanks

you can scuff up the entire interior floor area with about 80 or 120 grit paper. THEN clean it all up real good with alcohol. then I use Z-poxy Finishing resin. It works great for me and it takes a nice LONG time to completely set up. No need for a really thick coat of it. just make sure the cloth is saturated and take your time.

then you can do your drilling. motor mount, ect. just make sure you rough up the mount to have a nice surface for the epoxy and cloth to adhear to, ect. (not to mention any thing else you are going to glue in place in the hull.)

The above works well. I had that happen to me too. I used fiberglass resin and mating to mount mine. I haven't had any problem since.

Yeah, you'll definite;y need to scuff the area up thoughoughly with 80-120 grit paper.

I used one of Andrew's Kuhler water jackets on my 1515 with the Etti mount and had plenty of clearance.

thanks guys. i sanded things up in there and cleaned it real good. then reduced my epoxy with rubbing alcohol. i hope this sticks better than the last time. def makes me nervous now to mount that big motor in there when im not even sure if it took this time. it looks good, but it did last time too
