norm, are you saying the water jacket is going to hit the floor of the hull or is it because the etti mount is too narrow?

Dana, I have a mean machine with an etti 150 and leopard 4074 2200 kv motor and hit 57 mph on 5s2p I would recommend sticking with 4s2p on that motor since 5s2p is way to high of an rpm. FYI As for the motor placement, I put mine right where the cockpit would be on the stock hatch. Also you might find that you have to trim the rudder a little to reduce drag, but wait until you get her in the water first to see how she runs.24 R/C vehicles and still counting...What budget?Comment

I have the carbon fiber mount for the 4074/4082.It works with both motors with jackets. The rear support works as well.Just have to slip on rear support before the water jacket. You can buy the mount here at OSE.I think its about $25.Comment

you can scuff up the entire interior floor area with about 80 or 120 grit paper. THEN clean it all up real good with alcohol. then I use Z-poxy Finishing resin. It works great for me and it takes a nice LONG time to completely set up. No need for a really thick coat of it. just make sure the cloth is saturated and take your time.
then you can do your drilling. motor mount, ect. just make sure you rough up the mount to have a nice surface for the epoxy and cloth to adhear to, ect. (not to mention any thing else you are going to glue in place in the hull.)Comment

Yeah, you'll definite;y need to scuff the area up thoughoughly with 80-120 grit paper.
I used one of Andrew's Kuhler water jackets on my 1515 with the Etti mount and had plenty of clearance.Comment
