Alright, I'm finally starting a build thread! This will be my first F.E. build so I'll be needing a bunch of help.

Here is my setup:

MHZ Mystic C5000 M Hull
2x Neu 1521 1,5d
2x Castle ICE 240A XL
2x Hyperion 5s 5000mah 45-90C ... and then ... 2x 6s 5000mah 45-90C LiPos

This is what I currently have:

Mystic Hull
Rudder
2x Drives
Carbon Set
Miss Geico Decals
Hitec 7955TG V2 Titanium Digital Servo
6EX Controller (might get Futaba 4PL)
2x MHZ Lift and Turn

This is my list of what I still need:

Stuffing Tubes
Flex Cables

What else will I need? I know there'll be tons of other things necessary.

I took some pics of the hull and hardware. I'll definitely need to get the hull painted. The top and bottom are two different colors, and the seam bothers me. I only opened it up to check for any damage, since this is my Christmas present. I figured now would be a good time to start the thread and gather information and find out what parts I'll need to start building.

youll need: pistol radio 2.4ghz from hobbyking or something better like futaba or something spectrum has a radio 2.4ghz with special marine receiver with extra long range.

you should have a datalogger like: etti poweranalyzer 250amps high volt or eagletree so you dont blow everything your rpm should be maybe around 35000rpm too start with and you can maybe go too 40000rpm+ with the right prop and stuff but be carefull too much rpm and prop will heat things up. dont use deans connectors if you are going over 100amps..

a tempgun is smart too have

and you need some props octura is great... dont know how big in this setup but you should start with small props like x440 and go up in prop if you dont draw too many amps/watts.

6mm bullet connectors for motor/esc/batteries

CG should be around 33% from rear of hull

you should glue some floatation in it too

youll need a y cable for the escs too the receiver

I wanted to use a stick radio as I see a lot of people using them for these boats. I have a Futaba 6EX, which I use for my sailboat, so I can use that one. All I'll need is a r/x. Or I can go with a new Futaba pistol radio. I'll figure that out, I still have time, haha :)

I was going to get the Eagle Tree data logger, but the new Castle Ice 240a XL will have telemetry built in. So I'll have info for both sides.

I have a DuraTrax Temp gun.

I'm going to start with the Carbon props and find which ones I'll stick with. Then I'll get the Octura ones S&B, and probably polished to look nice

I use 5.5mm bullets on all my other stuff, so I was thinking of using the 8mm bullets on this setup since it's pretty high amp.

I certainly wouldn't go with a Hobbyking pistol grip radio for my FANCY MHZ.... the futaba stick radio you have would work fine.... I'd much rather leave my MHZ in futaba hands then a $17 hobbyking radio... like putting watered down regular gas in a Lamborghini...

WAY to go though DOMP4444, looks like you aren't messing around there and have one helluva a project to tackle... can't wait to see this thing go together...

Yeah I know, I definitely wouldn't go with a HK radio for this boat. I'm either gonna use my 6EX or buy a Futaba pistol radio.

Question: What servo should I use for this? I like the look of two servos, but can I do that on this boat? Maybe I'll stick with one for now

Thinking of putting these on it too. I really liked the look of them in a YouTube vid I saw.

Can someone recommend me a servo? I'm not quite sure which one to get. I know it has to be high-torque, just which one?

They are a little spendy, but the specs/performance is worth the extra cost... For example... The HS645MG is a great servo, about $36-$38, 140oz @ 6v, metal gear.. BUT, there is about 1/32-1/16 play on the arm, due to loose gear mesh... Doesn't sound like much, but at high speeds you want your rudder rock solid... I have one of these on a 1/8th wood hydro and one on my Truggy, both work flawlessly... I was glad to hear you will not be using any budget chinecheese equipment on your big $ boat, that would be ultra tacky... You own one of the finest hulls produced, best to carry that theme through the entire project...

It looks like a aluminum x shaped horn on the servo with the carbon fiber bolted to it. Not sure where it came from might be custom who knows...What are you referring to about gluing everything in place? The servo mount? I have used JB weld and others have as well with good results.

No problemo. Jb weld is pretty good stuff. The regular version which I think is stronger than the KWIK takes quite a while to cure so don't get in any hurry with it.
