Got some more done. Cut out the holes above the drives. The large ones were good practice for when I cut out the holes for the drives. I'm also gonna get some longer screws, since they barely go through the hull (for the mounts above the drives).

Finally drilled one of the big holes for the drives. Phew, that was scary.

Got the other one done as well. So now all that's left for the drives are the mounts that go on top of them :)

Got the rudder done today. The hydraulic mockups came out a little uneven but I'll sort that out tomorrow. Other than it I'm happy with it. It was really hard to get the 6 holes for the rudder mount lined up and they came out larger than I planned. I finally got them to go through though and that was a big relief

I finally got some longer screws. I also put one longer screw in each drive mount where the reinforced plate thing is. Now I'm waiting for my flex stuff to come in from MHZ, then I'll be able to cut out the water intakes.

Looks like the build is comming along nicely. I agree water pickups should go as close to center as possible. What type of pickups are you going to use, the mhz style? I used aluminum tube which allowed me to get tight against the sponson and still miss my shaft tubing. It also allowed me to protrude out of the hull more for better water flow.

Yep, I am waiting for my flex cable stuff to come in so that I can see how close I can install the pickups. I have the MHZ ones, which I am planning on using. I like what you did though! It really allows you to get right up into the side. I'm gonna have to grind out some of the carbon/kevlar like I had to when installing the drives in order to get them really tight to the side.
