    Project EKOS!

Yep. A while back I bought a hull on back order... Well today, Venom dinged my card which would suggest that it is on it's way!

So, I looked at the Venom website and... The invoice is marked SHIPPED!

No tracking number though... Curious if this means it's going to be shipped, planned to be shipped... or... already has!

Either way... It's time to start planning a kick ass drive line for this hull!

Right now I have twin Turnigy Aquastar 120a ESC's and twin 540 1800Kv Inrunners.
Twin 4mm drives and a 95mm rudder with some basic aluminum motor mounts.

I have a pair of sponson mounted water pickups I might experiment with too.

I can't wait to get a nice clear coat on this one and make it a 55+ 4s screamer!

Well, this is off to a crappy start. The new hull is damaged. The hatch wasn't secured in shipping and danced all over the paint.

The magnets are glued on crooked and the exhaust pipes are crooked.

Maybe I wasn't supposed to open the box. Just leave it packaged on the shelf and admire the cardboard.

VENOM EFFIN Sucks!! Seems they can't get anything right. Looks like one of the hull they been trying to get rid of on ebay, listed with scratches or miscolored paint. Sorry to see it bro.

This hull is a warranty replacement already. Although I did pay almost the same amount I could have gotten it from Tower.

Everytime I get close to thinking about ordering one of thier products, stories like this keep popping up and "saving me"!

I need to print it on my monitors "Do not buy Venom!"

Sorry to hear about your woes.

Sent them the photos, left them a voice message... We'll see what they do with this... I'm not going to put too much into it. Always seems to be a waste of my time.

Good thing I have plenty of other projects going on. =)

IF you send it back, you should put an obscene present inside(dog crap).

Guess I got lucky. I ordered mine through my LHS and it arrived in good condition. I decided to buy the hull and build it after reading about everyones troubles with the electronics. Thought I would put in a more reliable setup.

Did you try to fit those C/C 2200 kvs and water jackets? My motors arrived but the jackets will have to wait, steve is out of stock. The motors fit in this hull without a problem and I think the water jackets will fit with a slight stretch of the upper deck. Although I am unsure of how much room there will be to angle the motors properly with the jackets installed.

It's tight, but can be done!

Maybe I'll do it too! (not- I already have another setup waiting for it.)

It looks like the Jacket is snug, but it's in there without any notching of the lip. It will be a challenge though!

Gently apply some pressure to the lip of the hull and it will move about 3-4mm and the jacket will slip in. Timing when to install the cooling nipples and directions will be a challenge.

There's some more room for the T180's, but I'm sure you'll figure out a way if you want to get them in. The caps are the only part too high for the lip of the hull, but do fit under the hatch.

If there's a will, there's a way. Might sit a little low in the water when you're done. But so does mine...

BTW- I talked with Venom and they can replace it, but the new stock won't be in until late JULY now.

Thanks for the info., It's not going to see the water anytime soon. Still have alot of stuff to order and I have alot of other projects on the go also. I am not going to start the build untill everything is on the bench and ready to install. If the C/C's don't work out I will use them somewhere else. There is so many different ways I could go with this hull. Those Hk outrunners seem interesting too. Are you far off with that build? I'm interested to see how those motors work out.

Did Venom cover the cost of return shipping?
