I have the same boat and now have the castle 2200Kv and Etti 150A and run 3S-4S, tried several props and found 440/3 to be the best so far. I haven't yet tried the 445 or 5S-6S. I got rid of the square drive shaft because to grease the flex shaft, I had to remove it from the motor side.
It's time to replace the lead-teflon bushing but still not sure how to go about removing the old one as well as the brass bushing?

AFAIK it's just a press in. I haven't attempted it yet though.

Use a piece of tubing (brass, aluminum, old drill bit, whatever) that will fit in the strut and tap it out.

tiqueman: right on the spot, except I had to use a "new" drill bit that fit perfect but I press the end of the bit on the wood and tapthe strut instead.
There is enough room for 2 lead-teflon bushings, should I go for it or no need?

Are you asking if you should install the teflons? If so, Yes. Im a little confused on your previous post. It has teflon bushings AND a brass bushing?

Sorry, this one does not have the brass collar. I just replaced the lead teflon one but wonder if I should install another one.

I put 2, one in the front and one in the back of the strut.

Back to Project Apparition, it's almost ready for the water!

The CC bullets came in and the cooling can is on. I used a 1515 can and trimmed it a bit to fit.

Originally I was going to use a 2200, but it was too long by about 5mm and rubbed on the hull hatch if any pressure was applied to the hull. It did technically fit, but I didn't like the angle of the drive as it had a slight kink to it.

So, I went with a 2650 and will run it on 3s4p. Yep, I have some old 3s1p 20c packs and 4 of them fit where the bigger two packs go and the COG is almost identical. So, it's a go! 16k Mah & 80c

I'm hoping this setup gives me some good 45+ mph speeds and long run time with cool temps. Basically a fun little machine.

I fit my 2200 by enlarging the motor mount fitting holes "upward" about 1/8" and it fit perfect.
I got a new pair of 5000 mAh 2S 40C, so I tried them and no matter how slow I pulled the trigger, the boat kept jumping out of the water like a frog. The ESC is the Etti 150A with soft start setting! After many many jumps, I finally eased up the throttle and the thing took off like never before.

It just so happened that I moved the esc aft to change the COG, so I guess I have to move it back and see if this helps the situation.

I think so. I really like mine and was going to buy the one you have coming as a clone setup.

Well, I today's test run was less than perfect. However I did stumble across something big. After about a minute in the water the thermal protection kicked it and I limped it to shore. WTF? Small prop, big battery low RPM, good water flow.

So I bring it home and hook it up for bench testing. Everything looks OK, but just can't figure out why it's generating so much heat and drawing over 10 amps on the bench.

As I'm moving it around I burned my hand on the drive tube. It was almost glowing hot. The friction from the drive cable in the tube. This also explains the high amp draw and heat. So I pulled the liner and sure enough, it's tight, even out of the boat.

This explains why I had so many problems with the previous motor and ESC.

I'll order a thinner liner, but in the meantime, it'll hit the water in the morning to see how it does without the friction!

Try the next size smaller stuffing tube and slide it into the original. Run linerless. Thats how all my boats are now. That 2650 should get up and go well. I run one in a 1/8 scale buggy on 3 and 4s. On 4s, I've hit 59mph with that bad boy!
