Do you have the hardware for it yet or is it the RTR version?
It's ARR. I had it in the water this AM with the HK 2700 Inrunner and the Turnigy 120a ESC on 3s with the stock plastic 2 blade 38mm prop. It's a nice running boat and really really light. I'll have to put in on a scale compared to the EKOS.
Right now I'm working on the Prop calculation for the 2200Kv and the 180a Turnigy ESC if I can get it to fit in the hull somewhere. Not sure if I want 4s or 5s, most likely 4s.
I ordered a couple of the sponson floor pickups from OSE, I think I'm going to do two out spouts for the ESC & Motor separately. I picked up the cooling can for the 1515 too.
I have to say the Apparition is a very nice boat. I'll post up some photos as soon as I get to them. It came extremely well packaged.

Awesome! Congrats on your purchase. Cant wait to see some pics.
Thanks!
I picked up a few props to start. Thought I'd try the carbon filled as they are cheap and don't require sharpening or balancing. (I've never done that before, but do have a magnetic prop balancer)
These are the ones I got to start:
grp-2327.36 Graupner S Series 36mm
grp-2327.42 Graupner S Series 42mm
grp-2299.33 Graupner 3 Blade Prop 33mm
grp-2299.42 Graupner 3 Blade Prop 42mm

I think you will find the 42s to be a good prop. Both 1.4 and 1.6" pitch should work well. Not ure the pitch on the Graupners.. but I bet youll be really close.
And Id love more info on how the stock boat ran. A lot of people ask that question and no ones really answered it. Any guesstimation on speed etc?

Ya know, I never even ran the stock motor. The ESC didn't come with any instructions and didn't arm, so I pulled it and the motor and changed them. The wires on the motor were tiny and thin compared to a typical 540 size motor, so I figured is was a cheapy and tossed it aside. No specs on it other than 1520Kv which doesn't tell me the rated amps or voltage. I have read that it's really slow on 3s.

Yeah 1520 is more of a min 4S boat. But I dont know what the ESC is rated at. I do know they generally come set up for 3S.. But I thought the motors were a higher KV. Where did you purchase it from?

It says 105a. It's the one from HK.
Some Photos:
I had to relocate the out spout to fit the batteries inside. It was right in the middle of the battery tray.
Is that motor in the pic the one that came w/ it. If so it looks as if its a 2??? KV motor. Possibly 27??
They really are nice hulls. Especially for the price.
It's one of the HK Inrunners, same as the dual setup I used in another boat. It's basically going to give me a starting point on 3s. I have a bunch of new 3s packs that I'm going to attempt to use on this setup.

Some Data from this morning's run (no GPS, didn't want to push it, I'll GPS next round)
Setup: 3s 25c x2, 2700Kv 36-56, Turnigy 120a V1 ESC, 38mm 2 blade prop.
47.56 Wh
10.35 Vm
137.75 Ap
1538 Ap
4.21 Ah
Temps after a 15-20 minute run: 140 ESC, 90 Motor
My wide open throttle time was less than 5 seconds at a time, followed by a pass or two at low speed to help cool things down.
Some Questions:
* Does the orientation of the ESC matter? Upside down, right side up, sideways? Currently it's mounted with the flat cooling side down, same as the stock ESC was.
* Does the order of the cooling tube matter? Example: Mount, Motor, ESC, Out vs ESC, Motor, Mount, Out
* What's a good way to help reduce prop torque for this boat? It jumps out of the water.

if it jumps out of the water on take of thats not prop torque, dont run it slow to cool it down that heats things up, doesnt matter with water cooled esc which way up it is.
usually cool esc then motor

The port side keeps lifting up and out of the water at high RPM. I thought it was the angle of the strut, but it's running really wet and still lifts out and ends up skipping. I'll have to make a vid to demonstrate. I don't think I'll accurately be able to explain.
The low speed passes were about 20mph or 1/4 - 1/2 throttle. I wanted to make sure a good amount of water was coming out of the spout. Low speed not to be confused with slow.
