shooter yours is plexyglass wich is a type of plastic wright maybe you can heat yours alittle and get it to bubble out alittle for the extra clearence but if it where me i have a factory place that sells plexyglass nearby i would take it to them and see if they could do it,,or they could give you some ideas...cuz they would no..Just had a thought if you put a seal under the PG and use a bolt in the middle to hold it down, getting rid of the tapeing idea the seal may keep the PG up just a hair high enough for it to clear the motor...

I'll try heating a practice piece and see what happens. Maybe if I heat the top and use a pc of wood from underneath to form the shape I want??? I'm just worried it will warp the outside edges. Right now it fits like a glove.

The seal idea sounds good in theory, however, everytime I've tried a seal like that (without tape) it leaks. My #1 priority is keeping her dry. Taping on a flat surface very rarely lets me down. Tried and true.

I just performed my "bathtub leak test" yesterday. I do it on all my boats before the maiden voyage. It involves holding the entire boat underwater (completely submerged) for 1 minute. She passed with flying colors....not a drop of water.

Jerry, you are a gentleman and a scholar! Great advice on heating the plexi. I was able to make a real nice hump above the motor! I used a wooden handle from a file and pressed it into the plexiglass after heating. It's still crystal clear. Thanks! The cover is actually on in the second picture. Tough to tell since it's clear.

I cut it by scoring it with a knife....real deep, and then bending until it broke. I used a belt sander on all the edges.
