Wow, in such a hurry had to post it three times, huh? LOL

Keep working on yours, that is fine. I will work on a spare here for if you need it.

Well, I took my hulls in with me this morning to work. Put them in the cabinet and sand blasted the insides. I am now going to look at putting some glass and carbon on the inside. Will see how they turn out tomorrow evening after they set up for a day.

                composite work

Sand blasted the inside of the hulls. should have used new media, as the old sand stained the inside grey, but it will be covered. Coated inside with epoy, then started putting down 2 oz glass from OSE. cut pieces to fit in the sponsons, three per side.

then put a piece in the middle overlapping slightly into the sponson. Also snip the composite anywhere it has to go around a sharp corner or raised section like a step. A second piece was added in the middle for reinforcement. also added a couple of 3/4" strips around the outside as the bottom pieces did not wrap up the sides all the way. Keep the resin to a minimum.

                  carbon part

Next I cut pieces of carbon mat. Started in the sponsons again, a seperate piece for each step portion. Added a piece to the middle and then pieced in any parts where there was not carbon. Took about 50 grams of epoxy to coat everything out, minus what was left in the brush. Carbon mat is 1/2 oz a sq. foot I think.

I will do the deck tomorrow.

Well, just did a second hull. This one I did a bit different. It is .030 plastic, but I doubled the carbon up in the sponsons. My 8 year old wants a twin, so maybe I will do one, solves the issue with the strut placement that way with twin stingers.

Getting better, this one took me about 1/2 an hour to layup, looks better than the picture shows with the flash. Resin started kicking off as I finished putting in the last two pieces in the sponsons!

What are the smallest CR props you can get? Is it the x430's? twin x430's seem like alot for a boat this size when the EKOS at 32" can run on twin 32 or 36mm props!

Maybe I will go with a steerable outdrive with flex cable.

Ever thought about vacuum bagging the fabric on? You could save a lot of weight that way because you could use less epoxy. You would also get a better bond between the fabric and the hull.

If you provide me with a hull i could machine custom twin drive stingers for you and me to do twin power

Carbon fiber tissue. Have used it for years, great stuff. $16 a yard or $26 for two in .5 oz. Also available in .2 oz

Also the only carbon fiber that I have found that is compatible with polyester as well as epoxy resins.
