I talked to Castle today to ask about the 240 Hydra's. I was told that they are made for 6s but to check the amp draw and esc temps on 5s before I toss in the 6s... I figure now whats to loose, I got em already and they know that if they blow they will be stinking all the way back to castle for fresh ones to blow again!!! Jeff W. mentiond to me that the HiModels are good for the beatdown and if blown they only cost $50 bucks ( something I can live with ) So I think a order of 6 HiModels shoud fit the build and after the paint and she is ready for shelf life (with once in a while showoff runs ) the 240's will go in.

He spoke with Castle and they said go for it and if they pop send them back. That is good as long as it does not take anything else out if they pop. I told him they should be hooked up first if he buys from the factory and tested. They are telling him you can not prop the boat enough to overamp it (typical sales pitch)

I told him just to buy a couple of 200 amp himodels and cool well. They do the same...either hold or pop early. I do know many holding 150+ amps without issues. I like that the CC are cooled between each fet layer.

I would look at what the boys are doing across the pond and set it up the same. Jorge made it happen but I do not remember the hull he and Arnt used.

I will say....you are asking alot from something that only the top dogs have been able to achieve and they seem to have endless pockets.

Also 6S is border of getting motors to RPM needed and the torque to push big enough props to get there.

Any setup that goes on a HPR115 will do the same in a 113 cm Mystic...........
I've never seen a HPR115 that needed over 150 Amps.
Both hulls are small, narrow, and well designed. You don't need
much to get these beauties going.
You don't need over 150 Amps esc's, you just need esc's that can REALLY handle about 150 Amps.
              That's all.

Then maybe some Etti ESC will be fine as well.

I was also told that If I wait until early spring there is to be a CC watercooled version of the ICE controllers with data logging... I can also trade in my unused 240's for something around wholesale cost. Sounds nice but patience has never been a friend of mine!!!

Why dont you just buy the trustie old Schultze 40.160wk's?
I have a HPR 135 and just bought the new version of the 40.160wk's and they dont even sweat in my boat, in all seriousness, they dont get hot at all!!
Not to mention, everyone ive ever spoke to saids they'll do more than there rated at by a far!

Couple of weeks ago it took flight and crashed out at around 70mph due to a gust of wind, my windscreen shattered as a result of impact and it went down, was bobbing up n down in the water for 20-30 seconds before i got to it, pulled it in emptied out the water, dried everything out over a few days, plugged everything up for a test and WHAT DO YOU KNOW, THERE FINE!!

                      Bloody awesome ESC!!!

On a side not, have you considered whats goin to happen to your boat if it has a blow over at 100mph? It will happen! Only a matter of time, no driver is good enough to counteract, it happens in an instant. Bye Bye boat

Hi, thought id share a little update about my boat, well finally I received my batteries after a 4 month wait. I connected a battery to my first Castle HV 120 ESC and everything is ok.
It armed. Connected the battery to the second esc and bang FIRE. Know I have to send the second esc back for another exchange. Why dont they test these esc before sending them out. I dont think I would ever purchase another castle creations ESC again after what Ive been through!!!!!!
Boats back on the shelve for another couple of months until I get my replacement.
                        Pete

I just do not understand why a CC smokes on plug in. I know they are covered under warranty but I expect more from a top selling company.

I had such a great dealer price that I could not hardly turn it down... but I did and decided to go with ETTI. And CC is only a few hours from me.

Sure I have had a few ettis sent back after many sold but they never blew at plug in. Oh...and turn around time on the etti is no longer than CC...possible shorter!!
